How could you do that? If you are not a child then why act like it? I mean that is so not right. We grow up for a reason, that is why we were made. Not to suck on pacifiers at age like 23 or whatever.

You are pretty bold/upfront, but I'd have to agree. Usually I'm really open minded, but this seems really stupid and lame.

The things we use as a baby we no longer need as we grow older. I like the feeling of not shitting and pissing myself, so I use the toilet. I don't want to have crooked teeth in the longrun, so I stop using a pacifier. I need to be entertained, not taught, so I gave up Sesame Street.

You don't need to be taught? Heh.

I only need say one line.

"Man whom say he knows least, knows the most."

Everyone could learn something from childrens programs.
Ideals of peace, friendship and love.
Fun instead of pain, a smile instead of sadness.

And as a fact, not all infantilists 's**t and piss' themselves as you so put it.
Infact, not all infantilists even wear nappies/diapers.

Is there really something wrong in finding security in things like pacifiers and bottles?

And tell me, dear sir...If you were trully happy with the world arround you and had sweet innocence, would you really even need entertainment?

I never said I didn't want to be educated. I simply said that, for me, TV is a form of entertainment now that I'm not 7 anymore. And I never said all infantilists do, I was using YOUR example in the first post, and being general, not specific. As for security, I don't need bottles or pacifiers. Security (for me) comes from love, family, friends, and your own self. I'm happy with the world around me. Entertainment isn't used for when you need a cure from the world.

I can't argue with that. But what do you do for security and comfort when your friends and family aren't there for you? Because they can't always be there for you.

And, what do you see being so incorrect and wrong about people being different in finding enjoyment in other things? For example, infantilists.

Also, I strongly agree that you are incorrectly naming a fetish... or giving a special name to one. But the last part of the definition talks about immaturity. I agree with that.

Dictionary.com

in·fan·til·ism (nfn-tl-zm, n-fntl-)
n.

A state of arrested development in an adult, characterized by retention of infantile mentality, accompanied by stunted growth and sexual immaturity, and often by dwarfism.
Extreme immaturity, as in behavior or character.

No. No i'm not.

Hmm... maybe I found a different definition. But back to my last post (since I saw your source) Why do you assume entertainment is an "escape from the world" (what I'm getting from you when you said

Why? What Causes Infantilism?
Paraphilic infantilism can be the result of many causes. Most theories focus on one of three suspects; defense mechanisms, conditioning, and biologic factors. More than one factor may be involved, and they may be different from one case to another. As a result, finding the cause for a particular case may take some detective work. As in all detective novels, this search proceeds by understanding the suspects.

I respect your opinion/fetish, but I don't really understand why you don't want to grow up. Believe it or not, there are good things that come out of not having to wear diapers, suck on pacifiers, and acting like a child.
I've heard of this before... somewhere... I have nothing against it I just think it's kinda weird.

That's why I said yourself, because it's true that they won't always be there for you. But don't you think that it makes one weak having to rely on materialism rather than standing up on your own two feet and solving things for yourself? I don't know about you, but relying on myself, and being strong through numerous hardships in my past make me stonger because I didn't need a lifeline like a diaper or pacifier or play-pen.
I personally think that infantilism blocks forms of emotional growth that hinders a persons ability to act correctly in a social manner.
making it wrong.

Okay, first: I never said TV is an escape from the world, what I said is, entertainment is made to bring people happiness, what in your world, is there, to make you want entertainment? The only thing I can think of is a lack of happiness.

Secondly: I ask of you to go back and read my first post in a little more detail. I don't mind growing up. I own three businesses and am a college student, planning to persue becoming a network security specialist.
I just have a side of me that likes going back to simple free comforts and whom enjoys infantile things.

And thirdly: Don't worry about the definition, it can easily be misconstrued due to the many different types of infantilism, I know where you were coming from on the point you attempted to raise. Thanks.

Fourth: Please tell me these good things that come out of not having some infantile comforts. Because it's more than likely that I already have them. I can easily switch myself between mindsets whenever I like, I have as much control over myself as any normal person does.

I've heard of this before... somewhere... I have nothing against it I just think it's kinda weird.

That's understandable, even I think it's weird and 'out there' sometimes because it really is weird, and I can't deny it being weird.

But it gives me comfort, so I just dismiss societies ideas of 'normal' for my own enjoyment and pleasure.

1)Watching TV doesn't necessarily mean you aren't happy. There are just some shows I like and to be entertained by. Once can't be happy all the time, so don't assume that since I turn on the tube that I'm forever in a state of unhappiness.

2)I agree with you if what you say is true. You need to get comfortable and feel joy. That's why I throw on pajamas or sweatpants and play games or go on vacation.

3)I truly thank you for correcting me.

4)"Switching between mindsets" doesn't sound like your true to yourself. I'm me. I have one personality. I act/think the same around one person the same I do to 20. "Switching between mindsets" seems like an escape from reality.....or a mental disorder like skitzophernia.
Meh ... I have no problem with it. If it makes them happy, good on you! I guess it's kinda cute.

Incorrect, I can handle completely fine in a social environment, I have MANY friends, all whom are open minded and don't care, they admit it's weird but also see that I don't really pull them into it or act different just because of who I am.

That may be the case in those who may take it a little far when they believe that they themselves are ACTUALLY infants or babies...But otherwise, no, I dismiss that all together.
I don't think there's really anything wrong with your fetish, because as far as I know, you're not hurting anyone with it. You seem pretty harmless to me.

BUT...I have a question. Maybe you've already addressed it here, but I'm too lazy to read every single post. If this is a fetish, as in, something you cannot function without, sexually, what are you going to do if you can't always find a "mommy"?

Also, do you think this is something you might, ahem, grow out of?

That's very understandable. I do the same thing when it comes to smoking. It makes me feel good so I dismiss societies dislike for that and do it anyway. Who cares if what makes you feel good isn't "normal"? If you like it, and it doesn't hurt anyone else, then do it. 3nodding
