I actually did read this topic and I was wondering... why did you create this thread ? Do you think people find infantilism weird or evil and you dont like how they dont accept you, or is it because you want to find others like yourself or something more ?

To be honest, my true opinions on infantilism is very very simple. I just dont ******** care. You want to dress like a kid ? ******** go ahead and do it. As long as you dont complain about how some people find it weird ( Because lets be honest here- some s**t somewhere will always find something you do "weird". there is no way to avoid it. Complaining about it is pointless, just accept yourself. ) I will ignore...

We know people are always going to have certain qualms about certain things, so we take them here so that people can openly dicuss them and try to come to a better understanding.

Why did I create it? Severa purposes.

To discuss infantilism and what it is/how it works. (Hence, ED.)
To share knowledge and education and learn in the process.
Meet others. (Yes, I know, blah blah.)
To take away stereotypes from at least another 'fetish',

But honestly, everyone is better off never having heard of it.

I never heard of half the weird fetishes I now know of before joining gaia (at the age of 19, no less). I can honestly say I'm worst off having known of it.

I can presume the same can be said of you.

If no one knows about your fetish, no one can descriminate against you for it. People are much more likely to live in a peaceful coexistance just not knowing. There is no need to educate people about it, because there is NO HARM in not knowing. It's like, you say you dont' want to be treated differently then other people, but if that were true you wouldn't draw attention to it, because before people knew they WEREN'T treating you any differently.

The harm in knowing, for me, has been a lower over-all opinion of the human race.

But that's just me. Maybe there are people out there who feel better about themselves, because, after reading about these weird fetishes, feel "well, I may be messed up, but I'm not THAT messed up." Thus, they may feel better about their own abnormal qualities in comparison.

Seriously. By placing it in your sig your asking for attention, both positive and negative. Hell, you've worded it like a direct challenge. You WANT people to argue with you, because in some weird way you're positive that you always win the debate and have some weird notion that by martying yourself you're "educating" people and destroying people's pre-concieved notions (or often times, giving people these notions then trying to rewrite them) by somehow "owning" them in an internet debate.

That's one man, out of the many psychiatrists/psychologists who greenlight these crazy things. I should know from experience (no it's not sexual, no it's not gross, no I'm not going to tell you what it is).

Okay. A good reason to tell people is so that it's known about...Imagine having to keep hiding something over and over again, it's just not right, agreed?
Tell people, educate the world, it's not going to be a shock, and hey, if you are reading this now, then it obviously caught your attention or you wouldn't be here. So you are making your own decision, no one linked you here or asked you to come.
So whether you know about such or not is your own decision.

Thing is, you can't go arround believing everything you hear from just man so easily. The only way to find something out trully is to test it for yourself.

On the issue of educating people about it, and being better off not knowing - I don't think knowing about this kind of thing should affect people in a negative way. If you don't like it or aren't interested in it, you never have to think about it again. But I think there is something to be said for all those people who do feel this way and think they're the only one that does, or that they're weird, or that there's something wrong with them (psychologists have no problem with age regression as far as I know, heck, some of them use the whole inner child thing as therapy to help people). I'm not an infantilist, but I imagine it's a similar feeling to finding other people who are gay/transgender/tree fetishists/anythingwhatever, and that's quite a positive and supporting thing.

That's a very good point, I'd considered that, but not into so much detail.

I must agree, if you don't like it or disagree with it, then you just push it to the back of your mind...If you are interested, then obviously, having something like this to help explain things right before your eyes can trully help.
Especially when you have a mixture of diverse people, those against, those for and even those within the given topic.

I would definitely disagree with your belief that you don’t ‘have issues’. I would say that your infantilism itself qualifies as an issue. Everything you wrote seems to be a justification for it, and while all of that great stuff about your life is wonderful and deserves congratulations, maybe you believe that the infantilism thing a little bit off yourself, rather than just recognizing that other people might think it to be such.

If you are the least bit uncomfortable with it then you’re still young and forming your sexual identity. That’s one of the only reasons that I’m even writing this, because usually I try to keep my fingers still if I can’t type something nice bordering on saccharine.

And if you decide that this makes you happy despite people like me then it will never matter what I say. I will never stop being amused at mindsets that I find incredibly silly. Just don’t learn to love the drama of being ‘un-understood’ or a ‘repressed minority’. People like that never seem happy.

This is just what I wanted, a post saying why you DON'T like it, but justifying your reasons for such. THANK YOU! Instead of trying to shoot someone down, you converse over the issue and not the person, this is the best way to go about this.

I can definately see why you find it sad and silly, but I suppose, for you to feel differently you would have to be in an infantilists tiny foot steps.

And no, I'm not uncomfortable at all with who I am. Not one little bit.
