Very true. Infantilists have the same sorts of relationships as anyone else, regarding age and orientation.

Infantilists are just like normal people who smoke...Just we smoke in a way that's different to everyone else.

Infantalism, I don't really have a problem with it as long as I'm not involved or someone who does it tries to convince me too because I'm just really not into it.

Then again, I'd just roll my eyes at a 50 year-old who's into Infantalism. Like they need to crawl inside the age of a 4 year old to feel just right. It's like they're just waiting for somone to yell at them to Grow the Hell Up.

Sometimes you just need to face up to your age, your maturity, your responsabilities.
You can't just crawl inside the life of a 4 year old in hopes that everything will go away with the warm touch of a milk bottle.

seems like people who want to avoid responsability, maturity.. then again, I won't bother someone who likes it, just keep me out of it.
I personally find it creepy, but I'm not one to judge them.

I'm not an infintilist myself, but I think infintilists can be damn cute.

So long as the person in question isn't starting to ruin their own lives over it (such as never getting a job, being abandoned by parents who think they're freaks, and then just never really "growing up" enough to take care of themselves.) the act is fine.

I've had only ONE of my three therapists call me an infintilist.
Only because I had an oral fixation and took to pacifiers.
...And it may have had something to do with me using Johnson-Johnson shampoos and washes. Also baby powder.

Because to me,
Soft skin = love.

Soft skin IS awesome...Though I only like it anywhere but my heels and hands. (If the skin is soft their...I get moody for some odd reason.)

Baby powder smells awesome and pacifiers make Danny go to sleep.

Well, up until I was twelve I had to wear goodnights. Because for some reason I couldn't ... uh... well, you catch my drift.

How old is she? Does she or you have the funds to move in with each other at some point in the future?

She's 23.

We're working two jobs at the moment to get there for September or so. We've got a couple of transition-related expenses to get out of the way first.

Then perhaps you should get them out of the way as soon as possible? Never good to have something holding people apart?

Transitions take a good amount of time no matter the effort you put behind it. I've only met one person who's been able to transition to the point of surgery in less than 2 years.

The difference is that it involves the mental stability and comfort with oneself much more than infantilism does. So it has a bit of a priority. One that is difficult to hurry, and not always a good idea.

Then I guess you take your time with it? I know infantilism can't be rushed once you're into the middle stages of it...The first few stages can though, as they help you confirm your feelings for it all.

Wow. I've never heard of Infantilism until I looked at this thread. Very interesting what you can learn while lurking on Gaia..

Anyways, I read this thread a week ago, got up to page 60 before I decided to post another day. o.o I'm curious to see whether I am a little bit of an infantilist myself or not, since I occasionally love sleeping with Mr. Teddy-kun, which helps me get to sleep a little faster. And I sometimes suck on the back of my pen, which calms me down alot. I like being given alot of attention and praise or hugs. It could be just my emotions flipping out again. 3nodding

My opinion on all of this.. I think it's rather cute, if it's not at the extreme. Though the diaper part does not appeal at all. I understand that it is used for comfort, but I don't like the idea of wearing one. The "mommy" and "daddy" idea is a little confusing, but I think I've got the point of it. It's like having a girlfriend/boyfriend, except they're more "parent-like", am I right? I'll read over the first page again! *scrambles back to the first page*

Actually...This is going to sound stupid to you, but when we give up our responsibility for an hour or so then come back to it...We are stressless and are more focussed, it makes us better people and more ready for the world.

A mommy or daddy is a friend/family member/partner that cares for you as if you were a child again. That's probably the simplest least defined manner of explaining it.
