It doesn't exactly matter if kids are reading or not. It's the content that they are reading. These books are teaching children that it's OK not to brush up on your writing skills, seeing as the author lacks many of them. As I said in the GD, the concept is decent, but I believe the story would have been better if it was written by someone with talent of captivating the reader as well as showing them how to be a good writer. If reading is how children learn, then shouldn't our society show them how to write properly? Honestly, it's like throwing a book called "Being a Nazi is Fun" at children, and expecting them not to take something from it. A child's mind is susceptible to anything thrown at them from a young age. Should we really allow children to believe that they can become millionaires off of a fluke instead of hard work?
Well, the book was a BEST SELLER supposedly, so i'd think she got a lot of money off of it. I honestly don't see anything wrong with the book. I think people at both ends of the argument that go to extremes are equally strange & annoying. In my opinion, it's a book, read it or don't and then stfu about it.
