Sir Pinkleton Moonscar333 Sir Pinkleton Moonscar333 Sir Pinkleton I was going to read the whole thread and write up an opinion, but after two pages (and the last one) I think the logical argument to take away from all of this is that Some guys are dicks, and some girls are bitches. Without hard data, we can't make claims that "most" of either woman or men are that way. there's simply no sources to cite, other than personal experience (which can be flawed because of world differences in culture, geography, etc.).
This goes to say that some guys are pretty rad, and some woman are nice too. Again, we can't say that they're in the minority because we only have out own opinions, so we don't know. Ever felt like everyone but you was an idiot? Yeah, lots of other people feel that way as well. Without data, we shouldn't make such grandiose claims, and not expect people to argue with the idea.
That said, in response to the OP, I don't think we can fault men specifically for what they do wrong. As has been brought up by other people, Woman can be malicious as well. Therefore, I propose that instead of identifying woman and men separately, we should disdain stupidity and ignorance in general, so that we might be able to get a closer bond with one another, regardless of sex (or race, social status, etc. additionally).
That's a very good, very valid point. Perhaps it is only my specific location and the people here that have provoked me to say that 'a lot' of guys aren't exactly decent, but, at the same time, I must also say that a large sum of people in general (again, at least in my area on the map) aren't exactly.. decent people. I can't say most because I honestly don't think that most people are bad or decadent. Simply, it's prominent in both genders.
But I believe it shows more in the male race. Since it has become socially acceptable to 'score as many chicks as possible' and held in high regards by others, men trend to brag about who they've screwed or how many people they dated at once. If a girl does that, they usually get looked down upon and called a slut, which is why decadence isn't as notable in the female gender.
For the record,
I don't support either feminism or misogyny. In my personal opinion, I believe that both genders are equal.
Well, certainly. There's is a pre-set inclination for men to act a certain way, that is to "bang lots of chicks" but that doesn't mean they all feel the same.
Also, I think you're talking primarily about America here. we're pretty big, but we're hardly the entirety of the world; to lots of countries in fact, we're incredibly abnormal. So again, no, you can't really say that _lots_ or _many_ or _the majority_ of males are dicks.
This is ignoring my own opinion on the issue, I should bring up.
Well, yes. That's what I was saying.
And I meant to bring up your point that men shouldn't just be at fault and that both genders can be bitchy, and your point that 'there's simply no sources to cite, other than personal experience (which can be flawed because of world differences in culture, geography, etc.). Oh, well, then we're on similar looking footing then. We can both agree that there's a double standard going with how society treats men and woman emotions/actions, and that these generalizations of both sides are largely emotional. Or so I'm supposing, oui?
Well, yes, considering that the problem is that some societies treat men as though they are pigs because some of them show their opinions on the matter more openly than some women- who in fact share that opinion. And some societies look down on women because some of them act cold towards men and feel subordinate to them because of that generalization.
For both genders, it's only some of them, not the majority, not all.
