Im an atheist. And I honestly have pondered on the question of Heaven/Hell quite a bit. I've come to the conclusion I would prefer hell. I would prefer to be a ghost more tho, but I just would hate to be trapped in a perfect place. It would drive be crazy.

Then it would not be perfect. Ergo you must be wrong to assume that it would make you crazy, if heaven is a perfect place by definition.

So your saying it would not be perfect because perfect would not appease me? But that is making it once again perfect.

If it's perfect, it wouldn't make you crazy. This much should be obvious.

Trouble with that is in an objective definition of a perfect world. For that to happen one of two things must happen. Everyone is changed so that they agree that the world is perfect. Everyone gets there own little perfect world to themselves.

So, yeah, where do Christians in general worship the cross in place of God, and where do Catholics worship saints in place of God?
First off, I'd just want to state that when I said that catholics pray to saints and whoever else, I hadn't meant it as a generalization, something that all Catholics do frequently. Alot of (but not all) regular practitioners do though. There are saints for pretty much everything nowadays so when an individual needs something in specific, they pray to the designated saint.

Here's a short list of patron saints.

...So, yeah. Where do they worship saints?
Mostly in the privacy of their homes, but there are also churches that have large paintings of the designated patron saint (along with Gd and Jesus things as well of course.)
I know that they're very common in Italy, and I believe Mexico as well. I'll try to find you some links for that.

So, yeah, you've yet to establish that this worshiping thing even happens.

Saint francis of Assissi
Here's a page on his life and whatnot.

Long story short, he's the patron saint of animals, the environment and of Italy and there's a prayer dedicated to him. If you wish to look it up, it's called the Devotion to Saint Francis d'Assissi.

The mentioned Prayer
O beloved Saint Francis, gentle and poor, your obedience to God and your simple, deep love for all God’s creatures led you to the heights of heavenly perfection and turned many hearts to follow God’s will. Now, in our day, pray also for us, in our ministry to the many who come here searching for peace and intercede for us as we come before the Lord with our special requests.

[Mention your special intention.]

O blessed Saint of God, from your throne among the hosts of heaven present our petitions before our faithful Lord. May your prayers on our behalf be heard and may God grant us the grace to lead good and faithful lives. Amen.

Saint Francis of Assisi,
Pray for us. Amen.

Oh, yeah.

That sure sounds like they're worshiping him, instead of asking him to get God to do something for them.
Yeah.
@within: Still waiting for your reply on so called semantics.

Why aren't you listening to me? They don't worship Saint Francis, they ask him to put in good words with God for them.

Oh I'm sorry, to me i thought 'worshipping' and 'pray to' were the same thing (english is not my first language sweatdrop )

But yes if I was unclear, I apologize. I wanted my initial argument to be that catholics pray to figures other than God.

Well I don't see much wrong with the latter. Also I doubt people with certain desires would get in. Or they would agree such desires are evil and they should not have them.

What if your idea of a perfect world is one where you are crazy?
