That would make God a humongous d**k. I'm, in my opinion, a wonderful person. If he punishes me for not worshipping him, that makes him one seriously ******** up individual.

And I wouldn't be sorry I hadn't worshipped him, either.

A lot of people have said this and I agree 100%. How does it make sense to send good people to hell? Why does it matter if they worshipped him or not? What about the people that existed before Christianity? It makes God look like a total a** because he sends people to hell simply for not telling him how great he is every Sunday.
i usually hate getting into things like this, but i feel the need to say something. though, i'll stay kinda brief, 'cause i hate getting into personal issues.
how would you act if you'd completely gave your life to god, felt that you were absolutely powerless without him, always thought thankfully toward him and praised him.... but, yet, you lived an unspeakably painful life, and no matter how hard you prayed 'lord, if you may, please take this pain away from me. but, if it's your will, then give me strength and guide me through it however long you wish. i'm thankful for the little i have, though this is horrible, and i feel selfish for asking, but... lord, please let me at least hear your voice..'
and then never even feel his presence.... ....if you lived through that for as long as i did, you'd understand why i'm so bitter against religion, and would rather suffer in hell than worship someone who made me endure that.

That has to be the most brilliant thing said in the entire topic. Hands down.

I submit to your superior epicness.

You think that's bad, just try imagining heaven. A world without sin? Sounds rather Miranda-like, to me.

It sounds like brainwashing. How can you always be happy? It sounds too odd. You don't have a personality I guess because no one is happy all the time like that. Do you not have memories either? I'm not really sure how it all goes down.

What if you died today (not believeing in god) and god sent you to hell , how would you react (keep in mind that hell is a place where maggots are treated better than humans) ???

I'd think to myself, "Wow. Well what are the odds...?" and laugh a little before being swallowed by...erm...whatever the hell that metaphor was supposed to be referring to.

Wouldnt it be easier to pray, read the bible, and go to church (which doesnt take
that much time) , rather than spend an eternity in hell ???

Because I refuse to believe that if there really is some omnipotent being out there, it's enough of a self-absorbed d**k to punish us mere mortals for not acknowledging its existence.

What? Have you been there? Can you recommend a place to stay? A place to eat? Do they have those Tourbook thingies?
1. I would enjoy it, but I'm a bit mentally unstable, so meh.

2. Actually, it takes a lot of time, and money, depending on which branch of Christianity you believe in. It is a waste of our life. We don't need any of that stuff to be happy, so why should we waste our time on it?

I have a few questions for you, if you will.

If you died today (believing in God) and you went to heaven, but it was a different god then what you believed in and he sent you to hell, would you see your believes as a waste of your life?

How do you feel about having to pray, read the bible and go to chruch on Sundays?

Talked to a Lutherian girl. She firmly believed that the earth was created in six days and that evolution was a big joke.

I asked her about the people sent to hell due to not believing, and she said it wouldn't matter to her, because in heaven you wouldn't worry.

Doesn't that mean that if you go to heaven, you loose your symphaty, humanity, and capabilty of loving in a certain degree?

I'd rather go to hell and be tortured, than lose those values.

I haven't read the entire bible. I read Exodus, Genesis, the Book of Job, Matthew, and John, so it's not like I read all the parts of the bible. I was raised a Catholic and while I still call myself a Catholic, there are lots of things I don't agree with. Maybe I stay a Catholic because it's more comfortable, I don't know. But Heaven is one of those things I don't understand, mostly because the parts I read in the bible didn't describe it in great a detail. I asked a lot of people about Heaven, just their random opinion, and none of it ever appealed to me.

I like the way I am. If I were some...blob in Heaven that was happy all the time, then that wouldn't really be me anymore. They say in Heaven there's no sin or suffering, but you'd have to alter people's personalities or take them away completely for that to work. I guess God fills that void. Whatever you felt was missing in our lives would be filled with God, but I think people are more than just their wants. And you know, our wants are a part of who we are too. Your want to become a doctor or something might be a big part of your personality. I dunno, maybe I've thought about it too hard.

Hmmhmhm. I agree. If by christian logic, all scientists, intellectuals, and others able to see though that religious garbage are destined for hell, then I'll gladly join them given the choice. Better then hanging around brainwashed deuces and zealots for all eternity. Besides, torture and heat isn't a threat when you have no nerves or living tissue. Surrounded by intellectuals...hmm, that might be a rather fun place. Have fun with the gardening and mindless bliss christians.

'Course, this is all in theory. I still stand by aetheism on a whole.

Hmm. Tourbook thingies...*laughs*
Non-believers don't believe that hell isn't a bad place, they believe that it doesn't exist.

If some almighty being sends people to leave in eternal damnation for having their own way of thinking then I want no part of it, anyway.
