As the ramps fell on the first landing craft, Churchill leapt forward from his position playing The March of the Cameron Men on bagpipes,[1] threw a grenade, and began running towards the bay.

Until you become as ******** awesome as this guy was, you have no right to say what can or can't be played.

Well I still think it's annoying, don't care people use it. But it won't be used in mine. Don't care how "awesome" you think the guy is.
Quote:
Churchill gave the signal to attack by cutting down the enemy Feldwebel (sergeant) with his barbed arrows, becoming the only known British soldier to have felled an enemy with a longbow in the course of the war.[1]

Quote:
He led the attack by 2 and 41 Commandos, infiltrating the town and capturing the post, taking 42 prisoners including a mortar squad. USING ONLY A ******** SWORD.

Quote:
Only Churchill and six others managed to reach the objective. A mortar shell killed or wounded everyone but Churchill, who was playing "Will Ye No Come Back Again?" on his pipes as the Germans advanced. He was knocked unconscious by grenades and captured. Puny things such as mortars and grenades have no effect on this guy.

Quote:
In later years, Churchill served as an instructor at the land-air warfare school in Australia, where he became a passionate devotee of the surfboard. Back in England, he was the first man to ride the River Severn’s five-foot tidal bore and designed his own board.

There is no 'think' involve. There is only 'Holy shiiiiiit'.

I feel sorry for all the vererans that Have to listen to that. I can sneak out the back, but they have to sit on the stage.

Have you ever actually LISTENED to bagpipes?

I adore bagpipes I would suppose these are used because they are ancient musical instruments of the British Isles, from whence most of us emigrated.

I once read that bagpipes were selected as the "least preferred musical instrument" and that polkas are the least preferred tune. Thus a polka played on bagpipe would be utterly detestable. blaugh

Oboes are worse, because they're always out of tune.
As a Scott, I would like to say:

******** you, bagpipes are the absolute s**t.

There is also The Lament (Flowers of the Forest) which shows how powerful they can be. This video starts with vocals and ends with the pipes.

Since you liked that, I think you'll like this rendition of an Irish Lament on the Uilleann pipes.
