Hmm... I'd comment on the original topic here, but I can see that not only is it too far along, it's no longer about the same thing, it seems. =/

Hmm...you must not pay attention. We get a few trolls pop in every now and then. We just pass the time in between them.

Leucrotta
And besids that, I am literally shaking with anger over the first few posts. So I think it's best not to post anything at all...

Good for you! Now get the ******** out.
Well... I don't know, really.

I'm sorry for clogging up the board. I just don't want to get out of line, but I'm sure my comment makes my opinions clear, eh? ;3

Barry = Barraketh. He's M&R's local intelligent troll, specializing in Catholicism and You 101: Why You Need Your Priest. He got banned a few months ago for something he totally deserved, and has come back with a random name, usually something easy to spot. You'll know him if you see him.

And I'd be willing to bet money I don't have yet that the Bible is ******** for a reason.

Whee for taking advantage of situations nobody else will. whee

xd Ok, cool. Trolls are fun. Is he one of those ones that gets really angry when you contradict him?

Yeah, that, and in my experience, I've only seen him concede one point. Ever. He's that vicious.

But he's fun to beat around with a stick.

Opinion? Have you forgotten that you're in ED?
.... Besides, what I've got to say, you've probably already covered.

So... I guess me posting in the first place was a dumb idea. *sigh* Once again, I apologize. I don't think I really have anything to add...

And now I'm rambling. Sorry again...

Look, if you've got an opinion, post it. We can debate it only if you tell us what it is.

Me: Wow, that was a long read. I'm actually glad to see people take such effort in these things. x3 I'm always pro-gay, no matter what, because it's such bullshit to think that they're not human. I've yet to meet an anti-gay who can actually give me a real reason homosexuals should not exist or live with us.

There are people who think they shouldn't exist? Yikes. That's going a bit too far.

And... alright, I'll post my opinion. Forgive mis-types due to shaky fingers, as I am not only agitated at present, I'm very cold. >___>;

The first thing that kinda ticked me off what how the thread maker seemed to think that they were the end-all be-all of Bible translations. (correct me if I'm mistaken) Now I'm sure they had a source, but I've never heard that the place in the New Testament saying that homosexuality is an abomination was 'mis-translated'. I think that's kind of a cop-out. If you're going to accept Christianity as your faith, then you have to accept ALL of it. Not just the parts you like. The Bible is AS IS. No 'let's just use THIS translation because it suits us better'.

Okay... that rant's over... I'll wait for feedback before continuing... if I can even recall waht I wanted to say next... >__>;

It's been proven in the past that certain translations of the Bible translate certain passages poorly. I don't have the full facts on this, because I'm not the scholar in that vein, but I have seen them.

And the Bible can never be AS-IS. At least, not until we have a translation that is 100% correct, which none have been so far.

And the biggest bullshit argument from the anti-homosexual arguers is that homosexuals "cannot reproduce", and therefore aren't alive. It amuses me.

You may continue.

Trust me, you're mistaken. I hardly believe that I am the 100% correct interpreter, no question, the end. I'm still trying to interpret the afterlife, and that alone will take me years. Not to mention Daniel's visions and Revelation... Anyways, the reason I said it was mistranslated is because it WAS. The word homosexual was not around until 1865 or so. The original words mean something else. Only reason I'm using the NIV is because it's convenient. I have personally read 3 translations of the entire Bible, and 5 (including previous three) of the NT. I still believe what I believe.

Me: Most bibles stories have actually been changed throughout history, or so I heard. I'm not an expert on the bible, but to me it's more of a really popular fictional (apologies to all believers) book that people decided to claim as the truth.

Another argument what I've heard often is that they're not "natural". Ergo: It wouldn't exist in nature, so it shouldn't with humans. Can someone perhaps explain this to the two male lions living together in one of my country's zoo's?
Okay... so we don't have any that are 100%. Oh wait... yes we do. God.

Now this part is... kinda only for believers. Because those who aren't will just think that it makes no sense. No offense here, because even though I'm against the views that aren't Christian, I don't want to start an all-out fight.

Moving on...

If you read your Bible, no particular translation (though most agree that KJV is the closest), and you pray as you do so, asking God to show you what the meanings are, you will know. Now in all likelyhood, He isn't going to descend from On High and tell you exact wording, but you'll just... know. It's hard to explain.
This... well, really has no proof. But that's back to the whole 'faith' issue, which is a bit off-topic maybe?

Okay... and here we have the 'gays aren't alive' or 'they shouldn't exist' thing. Alrighty... well... They are alive. That's just... common sense. O__o; They aren't inhuman, they just don't preform normal sexual behaviour.
In my line of thinking, which to me is God's line of thinking, this is a sin. Then again, so is stealing. So ir rape, murder, incest, etc. But we don't always kill those people, so then gays can exist in the sense that they are allowed to live.

There is a huge forgotten concept in the Bible. 'Love the sinner, hate the sin'. I personally practice this as well as I can. I think it's pertinent here.

Clearly this is a liberal zoo in which Christianity has been banned!
It's a Christian's duty to inform these animals of the Lord!
I say, we cram the little buggers in separate cages with lionesses!
This will teach these animals to reject the word of God. 3nodding

So who are these "many", because I've seen proof that the KJV is one of the weakest translations.

And you're telling me to accept your reasoning because it "came from God"? What if I were to tell you that God has shown me, through experience and learning, that homosexuality is not a sin? What would you say?

...God's not a Bible. And most people agree that KJV is one of the furthest away, actually.

And if you believe I haven't prayed about this stuff, believe you me. I pray about it every night. And some of these verses I never would have found without God's help.
