The funny thing about your statement is that Sparta was actually a city-state within Ancient Greece.
Also, just a funny fact: You know in the movie 300 when they make fun of the Athenians for their 'boy-love?' Sparta was by FAR the most practiced in pederasty.

Yeah, well Sparta was practically the most civilized. Even though they did kill children who weren't meant to fight at birth.

They had the best military because they had a huge slave culture. Also, they were extremely war-like. I would say the Athenians were more civilized in many ways.

That's not even what I'm arguing. I'm not comparing the Spartans to the Romans, I'm comparing the Spartans to the Athenians. Both of them were Greek city-states.
Besides, everyone had a war-like culture.

Honestly, the Spartans were like the real world version of the Saiyans (DBZ). If the Sayians were real, they'd have a culture simluar to the Spartans I believe. But all that is besides the point.

I prefer Greek, as the Romans were mostly Greek inspired. And you gotta love the cradle of democracy...

I don't particularly like either, for some reason I always liked the Carthaginians. The Romans always seemed like such hedonistic douchebags and the Greeks seemed incredibly...gay, but the Hellenistic world gave enormous contributions to the arts, sciences and mathematics while the Romans pretty much just concentrated on further organising and systematising a** kicking and the a** kicking procedure...so I guess I'll go with the lesser of two douchebags. I prefer the Greeks.
