...he is making tens of millions of dollars a year by effectively trolling listeners, callers, and viewers and consumers of his media.

Now I'm going to touch base on Talk Radio in general and his television show, but first I would like to direct attention to some very accessible videos and quotes and comments that Glenn has said to Callers and Listeners emphatically.

At the time of this broadcast, specifically this broadcast, and I believe this is why it is so famous, Glenn, in a very calm and gentle manner is very polite and assuring to the caller whom has called and is being featured on his show.

Very shortly into the call you can tell Glenn is obviously be facetious with this caller as he seems to be agreeing with everything she is saying. He then takes a moment to pick at a loose comment she has made about his personal family and how they have 'never had an illness'. And this turns into, essentially, Glenn assuring the woman that indeed NEVER has anyone in his family been sick, or needed medical attention of ANY kind. And he becomes turbid. Not just because his daughter was born with cerebral palsy and has obviously been to doctors, or Glenn himself having had sought treatment for substance abuse, but, that this is in fact so undoubtedly true his tone becomes volatile.

Now to someone who listens to what Glenn is saying and doesn't know about him, his family history, or the health care system in the states, would assume of course that Glenn is a complete idiot and a mad man. But what he is saying at this point is true, and yet he is sardonically agreeing to everything this woman is saying to him because he knows she doesn't know what she is talking about.

And I have seen videos of people as though they were reviewing this material, saying things like 'listen to Glenns rational argument' or 'check out Glenn's freakout' or 'take a listen to what happens' or 'Glenn Beck exploded/lost his sanity'.

Moving on...

Glenn has made some remarks on Global Warming being a lie.
He has quoted the creator of 'The Weather Channel', for saying that global warming is an outright scam.

He has said things like "The government is full of vampires." and " (The) President (of the United States) is addicting (the states) to heroin" and that the president is thus a "heroin pusher".

So what do you think of Glenn Beck?

I think he's either a troll, or needs help. I can't tell if he seriously thinks these things... so I can't call him a troll...

I also think he's good for when nothing good is on Comedy Central.

I find it very interesting that his opinions seemed to instantly change when he changed networks. Personally I'm not a big fan of punditry, but his myriad uses of the Reductio ad Hitlerum fallacy is not only annoying and a major offense in debate, it's extremely dangerous and insulting because he has listeners who will take every word without question. It's a sad and serious problem.

Glen Beck is pretty much an entertainer. He is paid for what he does, and Faux news was the best place for him considering Comedy Central and MSNBC had the other side sewn up with some fairly charismatic pundits for the left. Actually, it was a great choice for him considering Faux stuck behind him after he frightened away so many of his sponsors.

A while back I read this article from Salon about where he started in the entertainment industry, as a morning zoo radio show host. If what the article says it true, he's just a really terrible person. Moreover, that he's a morning zoo radio host turned political pundit explains an awful lot about his behavior.

What worries me is that so many people seem to take him 100% seriously. Conservatism as a political position does in fact have its merits, but Beck's nationalistic, divisive, emotional nonsense does not.

Glenn Beck spouting ignorant and paranoid misinformation intended to turn his audience against any government program? There's a Snopes for that. Ooops, looks like things are not at all like Glenn Beck portrays them! Who could have imagined?

Beck is either a complete idiot or completely shameless. (edit: actually, he's probably both).
It doesn't matter if you say he's an entertainer, the guy is a total fear monger and facts-free insinuator. Jon Stewart is an entertainer, even one focused on politics as Glenn Beck is, and he doesn't need to resort to lying, slander, or driving his audience into frothing mania to be effective. And not only that, have you compared interviews on The Daily Show, an upfront comedy venue, to interviews done on Glenn Beck's Fox News program? The former is sometimes like a more personal version of Meet the Press and the latter is like any random interview on Entertainment Tonight, only with less celebrity glitter.

Beck, like any other person on televesion whould be taken with a grain of salt. Some of the things he says are outlandish, and many I flat out don't agree with, but he covers a lot of topics other shows won't, and has on more than one occasion been the first to report a newsbreaking story.

Personally I like him, though I do feel he can be overdramatic and sometimes simply incorrect. Though, I think the same can be said for others in media who recieve far less crap for it than Glenn.
