Horace Burtons Ghost
Hurt my feelings, I destroy your s**t.
Um, no. The message seemed to be, disobey and disrespect me, and I end your relationship with the s**t I bought and upgraded for you.
My kids aren't even going to have personal electronics while under my roof.
He was very hurt, that the sacrifice he made by becoming a parent isn't reciprocated with the aria from 'Aida' every time he walks through the door. The only thing I took to task, was when she shitbagged the woman that came over and helped around the house. Unless she really is the cleaner.
Respect has to be earned, and not by having a tantrum and shooting up a computer. It is sending the wrong message with regards to how adults should behave when things don't always go their way.
It is not alright to behave in such a childish manner, hoping that there are tonnes of like-minded folk who applaude you for doing something they only dream about, and to use the excuse that you are 'the parent', does not make what he did right, or in any way productive.
Two adults couldnt resolve this conflict like that in the workplace, neither should people be treated this way at home.
No wonder kids get ******** up, since this is one example of the parenting skills on display.
Maybe the kid should have been shown that nothing is hidden on the internet, so be mindful of what you say. And remind them, that before computers, that s**t was written in diaries, where teenage angst used to reside.
As far as personal devices for kids, worldproof the child, because you can't childproof the world. Being taught how to use the devices properly, and to explain some of the tricky things, I think is better than them stumbling on it later, and finding the nasty s**t on their own, without any guidance from those with more life experience.
