driving age and car accidents

In my state I believe they already brought up the age to seventeen.

I don't see any point in raising the age limit. You get better with practice, so someone starting to drive at 18 will be just as bad as someone starting to drive at 16. Experience is what will make them better drivers.

I suppose 18 year olds have more driving time with their parents, but I don't think it will help much.

There are really good drivers whom are sixteen, and I'm sure that if the age was upped to eighteen, there would be very bad drivers at eighteen as well.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend, but it isn't the driving age that caused her death. You are no more capable of driving at 18 than you are at 16. I know some 18 year olds that are terrible drivers, and some 16 year olds that drive more careful and cautiously than my grandparents.
