I prefer anti-stupid, but more often than not this puts me on the side of liberals just due to sheer common sense.

Yes, socialism has a totally different meaning in Europe than in the United States, yes?

Middle ground. Both are good in some cases. Case by case is the way to do things.

I can never remember.

It was either liberally conservative or conservative liberal.
Independant/Conservative would be your choice then.

Depends on how we take his words. "Liberally conservative" could mean that he's largely conservative whereas if he meant his second statement to be "conservatively liberal" it could mean that he's somewhat liberal.

But really, this isn't much of an Extended Discussion thread.
Well just because people aren't at each other's throats about politics doesn't mean that this isn't an extended discussion thread. As you said, it's all about how you look at things.

That's not why. I actually prefer it when people are cordial. It's just that this sort of thread just has "I'm ______ for _____ reason" and not much else (since it's set up that way). It fixes itself too much on each person individually rather than encouraging conversation between people.

I'm definitely a liberal.
I'm a writer, and I'm gay...
So I obviously believe in both civil and equal writes for everybody.

You're aware that there is something called moderate correct? Also are you going by American or European standards? Also why does a poll thread need to be in exended discussion?
I already told you that it was American standards, and I didn't put moderate down for a reason. No one is completely moderate, there's always something that leans them one way or the other.
Our political affilation is the representation of our tendencies. Therefore you're wrong about not including moderate as a political affilation choice. Also why is this in the extended discussion?

Lonely Saint

I don't know crap about politics, but 9 times out of 10, I agree with the liberal standing. Therefore, I guess my side has been picked for me.

You have no selection for "moderate". >.>

I am moderate on most thinks, conservative on some and liberal on some.

Aged Lunatic

I'd be I guess... I have no ******** clue. I just know that I'm for non-straight, non-gender-binary rights, women's rights, abortion, religious freedom and freedom from religion, more sex ed in schools, giving a ******** about the poor, legalizing weed and Funyons, among other things.

I do tend to lean more to the conservative, but honestly I will usually go with whatever is going to be the best for the country. Democratic or Republican.

Eloquent Streaker

Definitely liberal socially. Economically, not so sure, but there are some points on the conservative point I definitely stick with.

I identify as a Socialist, which generally leaves me rooting for the Democrats simply because I think they have more sense.
I just don't get people who want the government out of their personal lives, but want it all in the lives of women, the LGBTQ community and the such.

I don't care if the bible says that the way I live is sinful. I'm not Christian and America is not a theocracy. I don't care that most Americans are religious because freedom of religion also means freedom from religion. I really wish that nuts of the religious community would stop trying to forcibly shove their religious beliefs down the throats of others.
While I'm on the topic of religion, I really hate it that those nuts take one passage of the bible that declares something sinful, but ignore others.

And don't get me started on the faults of Capitalism
Or the lack of available health care
Or 2 dozen other issues with the conservative ideas

Only thing that I might agree on with conservatives is gun control. Outlawing guns is impractical in a country as large as America. It'd be impossible to control everybody, and would upset a lot of hunters. Better restrictions, yes, but no ban.

I don't know. I have a liberal mindset when it comes to abortions and gay marriage, but I wouldn't call myself liberal because of that.
