Welcome to Gaia! ::

this might be an old one, but this is one question for those who remember, which was a scarier time to live in the constant fear of terrorist attacks(post 9/11), or the constant fear of nuclear war ( basically the 60's to the early 90's)?

also if anyone has any memories of air raid drills or such things I would love to hear them, please?
"Remember kids, the only thing that'll protect you from the b*****d red commies are these three easy steps:

1. Report anyone that displays feelings of sharing, disobedience to authority figures, and doesn't engage in the social hierarchy.

2. Practice nuclear drills regularly; the only thing between you and Atomic Armageddon is your two-inch thick plywood desk.

3. And always smoke Marlboro brand cigarettes! You can taste the west in em!"
The cold war...

The war on terror...well, it's nearly as laughable as WMD's. Yes, there are terrorists, but the American government (among others) has blown the situation out of proportion... There is no substantial evidence that Al-Qaeda is a world-wide organisation, bin Laden didn't even use the term until the Americans used it after 9/11.

That being well and true, I'm not saying there is no threat.
