I think that 16 year olds should not have access to marijuana. It should be right up there with tobacco: adults only.

16, 18 two yr dont make a diffence and mj does not hurt any or any 1 .... i am sorry if any 1 think differently ... it does not make u dumer.... i was already stupid before....jk.. but mj was to help cancer because people would not eat and mj would help with thier hunger... marijuana is going to be legal.. the government needs money , they r going to do weed lik they do cigarettes... and tax it
Marijuana does not help cancer. It helps people who are going through chemotherapy.

And you bet your juvenille butt 2 years makes a difference when you're a teenager. There's a HUGE difference between a 14 year old and a 16 year old.
Mm-hmm; I was a foolish douche when I was 14. When I was 16, I was just slightly less of one.

Thinking pot can't cause cancer is just ******** absurd. You are smoking something. You're putting smoke into your lungs. I mean, really? You're going to attempt to refute that?

Eating pot is one thing. Smoking it - smoking anything - is another.
So.

What exactly in smoke causes cancer?

Carcinogens. It's factually accurate that marijuana does have more carcinogens in it than does tobacco. Luckily people don't (normally) smoke pot as frequently or as long as they do tobacco. Still doesn't protect them from the cancer-causing agents in both substances.

And yeah, boo hoo carcinogens are in lots of things. Doesn't refute the fact that there's enough to easily cause lung cancer - among other cancers, I might add - in pot smoke.

Anything that burns is carcinogenic in nature. Doesn't mean that you'll get cancer from sitting around a campfire.

In actuality, there isn't a single case of a pot smoker getting lung cancer from smoking pot. Also, cannabinoids such as THC and Cannabidiol have anti-tumoral properties and some studies have shown that moderate use may protect against neck, head and lung cancers.

It's all about vaporizers anyway.

One of my sources.

Actually, yes it does. When something burns, it releases carcinogens into the air. More likely than not, you'll be breathing that same air. I'm not saying OMG CANCER from one cigarette or one night camping, but each time you inhale carcinogens, it adds up. People can get cancer from just one cigarette. It only takes one.

Not documented cases as of yet, no. This doesn't negate the basic fact that you're inhaling copious amounts of cancer-causing agents each time you light up. Again, pot smokers don't use as often or for as long - year-wise, rather - than tobacco smokers on a general basis. Not only that but tobacco is laced with tons of other stuff that pot usually isn't laced with.

I think everyone knows by now that marijuana has medicinal benefits as well.

Edit: It's almost 4 AM here and I need some sleep. Peace.

It's moot.

You ignore the fact that while, yes, smoke does equal up to exposing oneself to carcinogens. Marijuana also has agents that negate the growth of cancerous tumors. Hence, you're incapable of responding to my point until you realize that.

I am also aware that breathing in smoke is bad. Sitting around a campfire and exposing your lungs to the smoke WILL give you cancer, but you'll just have to give it about a thousand years to get to it. The same goes for Cannabis which has far less carcinogens than cigarettes, and has nifty anti-tumoral agents such as THC.

Yeah but you don't stick your face in a campfire and inhale as deeply as you can, especially not several times or regularly.

The idea that marijuana has any meaningful place in therapeutic medicine is absurd.

EDIT: The idea that marijuana has any justifiable place in medicine at all is absurd.

When I use marijuana, I am more comprehensive and interested in things. I think more deeply and am more comprehensive. I remember most of the things I learned and read and can focus 50 times more clearly than off of the bud.

When you use marijuana, you think you're more comprehensive and deep and interested. BECAUSE YOU'RE SMOKING POT.

Haha. When you develop lung cancer, at the very least you can say, "Well, at least it wasn't head or neck cancer!" biggrin

I have only used one drug and that is Marijuana, and I've never been interested in any other drug. The stepping-stone theory is not valid.

Yes, because your personal experience with the drug completely invalidates research using a far larger number of people.

LOL are you using it right now?

No, you just think you do due to the psychoactive nature of the drug. In reality, marijuana impairs your psychological abilities and dulls concentration.

trust me ive compared everything, recorded myself. ect, ect.

You know considering that you're the one who started this thread and you're the one who advocates smoking pot, you always have the option of responding. Just sayin'.

ORLY? Two years doesn't make a difference? So you don't see a difference between a two month old baby and a 26 month old? The differences between 16 and 18 year-old are in growth and psychological development. The brain is still developing at 17. (hint: maturity levels, hormones, puberty male AND female)
