Welcome to Gaia! ::

I shouldn't tell you but I enjoy Mary Jane. I possibly will eventually get my license to sell to companies for medicinal purposes and admit it does improve disease and prefer to help people who cannot eat food for some reason or have health problems as it is very effective.
Sure! It helps me get to sleep when I'm not feeling tired. Very handy stuff.
PMS. I get really terrible PMS and have awful periods: mood swings, rage, depression, awful cramps, migraines, insomnia. Weed helps with all of these. The mood swings tamp down, I don't want to destroy everything, the migraines stop, and I still have cramps but I can't feel them anymore. I also don't have any trouble sleeping.

I also think it helps my ADD and anxiety as well, but that might just be my wheels spinning. I do pay more attention to things and have less anxiety attacks when I'm high, though.

Its a wonderful herb that works as a sleep aid, helps with menstrual cramps, and makes boring things not boring anymore.

the last of which probably being the weakest defense for marijuana but its really true. doing the dishes is not a soul crushing task when you're high.

Pot also makes you think a different way. If you're a person who is faced with a lot to figure out pot can really help you see things from a different perspective...of course I always wait untill Im sober again to make any sort of decision....we just dont know if pot makes you stupider but the evidence points to no.
It has actually been shown in many different public and private studies that the use of THC from Marijuana makes a person more empathetic.

It makes me angry that marijuana was criminalized so that lumber companies would beat out hemp companies in the production of paper.

Marijuana was made illegal because people started propaganda that it made black people and mexicans specifically go crazy and do all sorts of ******** up s**t.

then they found out it actually made people pacifists.

then the government did a study on monkeys to see what pot does to the human body. They deduced that pot causes brain damage because they hooked the monkeys up to a machine that pumped the equivalent of 30 joints into their lungs over the course of five minutes with no additional oxygen. The brain damage was from suffocating the monkeys.

The truth of the matter is that our government makes too much money off of drugs. They keep taking our tax money to fuel their war on drugs and they get to seize the assets of any drug dealers they bust.

the federal government has even raided pot pharmacies in California. Businesses who were only following local state law and regulations. Businesses that should have been protected by their state regardless of federal law.
The feds should have gone and got a warrant and taken the individuals to court to discuss the discrepancy between the state and federal laws. What happened instead? The pot dispensaries were raided. all of their product was taken. their property was destroyed. and another small business owner who tried hard and jumped through the necessary loops to get where they were was ******** over because they had something the feds wanted.

What I'm trying to say is that we should have tolerance for pot smokers. It doesnt make you stupid. It doesn't make you kill people. The bible itself said that god has given us every herb bearing seed to do with what we will.......
why are we still listening to an economy crippled 200 year old government with views and policies that are simply.....outdated?
Well of course it helps you! Think of it this way: people wouldn't use it if it didn't do anything to help them.

Then again, while it may help you with certain small things, it can also cause other, often more severe, problems: X

I personally don't believe people should use it but and I think that the people who do are idiots but.... *shrug* Whatever works for you I guess. It's your life after all.

Because post-World War II, it was them or the communists, and if you sided with either, you sided with them on everything. Canada followed this logic, and it's been an insult to me as a thinking person and resident of the country ever since. Most South American nations that didn't side with the Soviets went along with the Americans and their moronic crusade simply because America gave them money and, when necessary, firepower. Most of Europe was content to largely follow America's lead post-World War II because they were the only democratic nation that had any real power left to play the worlwide red state-blue state (and technically, those are the colours used to refer to communism and democracy, so it's still accurate XD) game with the Russians.

The difference now is that most European nations have pulled out of America's "war", some even going so far as to legalize personal usage of substances and most at very least ceasing active pursuit of drug users, and now Argentina and Mexico are moving in the right direction as well. The significance of this is that they can be hurt a lot more by America economically if they don't play those petty games and there's a history of both overt and covert economic blackmail between America and many South American states. The difference here is, the people of Argentina and especially of Mexico are just ******** sick of all the trouble this violent and dogmatic "drug crusade" has caused. In Mexico, the only reason the government even has power is because the cartels have no interest in managing the country themselves. The government is a joke, the country is horrendously unstable, and why? Because of the ongoing firefight between the drug cartels moving drugs through to American users and the American government doing everything in their power to prevent this. Mexico is a battleground of foreign ideals and it's ruined them. And they're tired of it.

In August, Mexican officials declared it would no longer be a punishable offense to carry up to: half a gram of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, 50mg of heroin or 40mg of methamphetamine. Of course, this isn't as limited as it sounds - yes, Mexican police will probably arrest you if you have a backpack literally full of several pounds of weed, but the difference between five grams and fifteen grams is "Who gives a flying ********?"

Additionally, Argentina announced shortly thereafter that "Each adult is free to make lifestyle decisions without the intervention of the state" and simultaneously dismissed a large number of cases dealing with youths in possession of marijuana and other substances - editing of the legal text regarding drug usage in Argentina is expected soon.

In an ideal world, this would send a strong message to America and force its people and its government to look at the issue from a perspective that isn't ruled by blind dogma, but then, this isn't exactly an ideal world. It took a Constitutional amendment to allow for the Prohibition Act in 1919 and barely over a decade later, the government was forced to admit it was a ******** stupid decision - so who gave Congress permission to criminalize other recreational drugs in the Controlled Substances Act in 1970? Over a million Americans have went to jail for "crimes"of opposing the state's moral absolutism and blind, knee-jerk judgments that hurt no-one but themselves, and a criminal empire has grown up in scant decades because of the American government handing them a massive, unbelievably profitable business servicing their own peoples' desire for the substances. Add to that the hundreds of thousands of deaths in raids, shootouts and other armed conflicts between dealers and police officers and you really must ask - what benefit does this give to anyone? Who could possibly gain anything from this conflict?

To answer: Richard Nixon.

But seriously. Tricky d**k was the man with the obsession issues, and we all know how much his s**t made sense. Research Doug McVay of the Common Sense on Drug Policy NGO has gone through countless Nixon tapes to collect and document his rationale for the drug war so as to illustrate its inherent illegitimacy. The last batch of tapes became available back in '02 and on them, Nixon is recorded as saying:

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Rich-ard Nix-on!
'You know, it's a funny thing: every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana is Jewish. What the Christ is the matter with the Jews, Bob? What is the matter with them? I suppose it's because most of them are psychiatrists.'

Of course, he wasn't just a single-minded anti-Semite. No, his irrational paranoia extended to gays, Catholics and communists (somewhat legitimate at the time, but this is the only one) too. To quote:

Absorbent and yellow and porous is he! Rich-ard Nix-on!
'Do you know what happened to the Romans? The last six Roman Emperors were fags... You know what happened to the Popes? It It's alright that Popes were laying the nuns for years, even centuries. But when the Popes, when the Catholic Church went all to hell in, I don't know, three or four centuries ago, it was homosexual...'

And finally:

Richaaaaaard! Nixooooooon!
"Do you think the Russians allow dope? Hell no... you see, homosexuality, dope, uh, immorality in general: these are the enemies of strong societies. That's why the communists and the left-wingers are pushing for it. They're trying to destroy us.

To paraphrase Gene Weingarten's 2002 article in the Washington Post, the war on drugs was waged in response to a "Jew-homo-doper-Commie-leftist-shrink-pope conspiracy to destroy America". And this man was the ******** President.

So. Next time some pompous government, law enforcement, or educational institution official gets up on a high horse and starts reciting government propaganda, remember the reason "Good Americans don't do drugs", smile to yourself, laugh, and turn away. The truth is that there is no justification for the war on drugs, and there never has been. If nothing else comes of this, I hope at least one or two people have their eyes opened to the laughably horrible reasons Americans are brainwashed into hating drugs when the only real reason behind the whole affair is Richard Nixon's apeshit ramblings.
I have chronic shoulder, lower back and knee pain. All from injuries I recieved as a kid. None were ever seen by a doctor as my family didn't have enough insurance at the time to cover a second one of their children. Over the counter pain medications have failed me. It takes at least 1600mg of IBProfen to get even moderate pain relief anymore, Tylenol, Asprin and Alieve have no effect what so ever. But when smoke, the pain just melts away. Before I started smoking I couldn't remember the last pain free day I had. Even now most days I can make it through with out resorting to pot. But there are some days where the pain is so bad that nothing helps. I rarely smoke, 3 maybe 4 times a month. I dislike the high feeling so I smoke just enough to stop the pain. I do not use it as a stress reliver, appetite increaser, or sleap inducer, though it does also provide those when I use it for my pain.

I could, now, go to a doctor and likely get a script for perscription pain medication. But why would I? I only need it intermitantly and perscription drugs are expensive and I can get $20 worth of pot and it will last me for 2 months.
