But then there's lesbians.

A rebellion against the primacy of the p***s; all rebellion is an attempt to control, to possess.

So they secretly want one?

Lesbianism is an attempt to sublimate the power of the p***s into the female shell.

What shall they ever do with those skyscrapers?

Skyscrapers get a bad rep, a lot of the time they are just spatially efficient.

Is it because they stand erect like a phallus?

I like the word "spatial".

Sometimes they are unnecessarily phallic but most of them are unassuming and are tall simply due to the cost of land.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Less land, more floors, equal commercial space.

I think it's a bit misguided of her to suggest the way you know you're meant to be a girl is by liking the color pink and playing with toys traditionally meant for girls. A non-trans male can like those things too. And, similarly, a girl can like things traditionally associated with boys without being trans.

If I got into a conversation about 'girl things vs boy things' with her, we'd probably strongly disagree about almost everything. But even if I disagree with the logic, I can understand how she hit that conclusion - it's actually a fairly common misconception in mainstream society (including among trans-people who've conformed into mainstream society,) and the society we're raised in inevitably colors our views. The "real" tell, for me, is not so much that she liked traditionally girly things, but that she preferred the misguided thinking of "this means I'm a girl" over something like being upset that it's "not okay" for boys to like those things.

A non-trans male can like those things too. And, similarly, a girl can like things traditionally associated with boys without being trans. Hell, I'm a full grown woman that plays video games, hates the color pink (I find it obnoxious) and applying to grad school for math... doesn't mean I'm a boy. Not every MTF is super girly. I have a friend who is MTF and is a total tomboy. I think it is great that she was able to identify herself, but I think her "how I knew" is a bit misguided is all.

burning_eyes
I understand what your saying
Though I think she said that because she had two
older sisters and knew those thing where thought of
as female items or not something a
boy should like...

Also I think, people should be looking a bit
more past some of these simpler things and
to the fact that, she was very clear at a
young age that she didn't identify with
being a boy/male and thought of herself
more as a female, given the wrong body..

nothing more, no hate or discuss just she
wasn't in the body she clearly identified with...

Right, and I think she should keep the argument to just that "I knew I wasn't a boy". Adding other things into the mix just makes it more confusing since not every girl who plays with Lego and Tonka trucks wants a p***s. So, people that don't understand think that trans people are just confused, which isn't true. It is those types of stereotypes that makes it difficult for a lot of trans people out there.

"Up front at the start" gets people killed. Later, when you know someone well enough to have an idea how they might react, is another story... but by then, there's emotional attachments messing with the rational considerations - and a bit of resentment that this is even an issue, when it *wouldn't* be if they'd been born cisgendered.

I would say that anyone who makes an issue out of this is no better.

burning_eyes
Oh and lying doesn't??.

Only if you get caught.

EthelbertOddity

I don't like being referred to as a cisgendered person also
so please don't use that in referring to me in the future..

I don't like being referred to as a liar for not 'outting' myself at the first viable opportunity.

burning_eyes
And that's the problem "when you get caught..."

Unless your a trans person who, dates someone and
doesn't tell them that your trans after you've started dating them
then yeah I'm calling you a lier, because that's what
your doing to the other person and by definition are...

The logic of your argument extends to implying that simply wearing makeup or coloring one's hair is a lie. Which in turn meas almost all women are liars.

The Living Force

Quote:
he Living Force: Why don't I have the privilege of knowing if you're your "proper birth gender?"

And for the record, that's an incredibly offensive statement. The proper birth gender naturally being the one you were born with. You're normal, so why should they even have to wonder? Junior, get over yourself.

Well damn, with fronds like these... I mean, if you're going to be patronizing as s**t, why the hell would we treat you as you feel you deserve. Seriously, if you demand to know that a person is trans, I would demand to know if you were cis. It's only fair, right? If you didn't tell me, I'd flip my s**t. I'd feel betrayed because you made a lie of omission. Right?

How is it not respectful to the non-trans? It just describes someone who isn't trans. It's not a swear word. It's not rude. It's just a descriptor. I BALK AT BEING CALLED A DUCK DESPITE MY DUCKINESS.

And I'll always quote Imperial scum. FOR THE REPUBLIC..

burning_eyes
Please don't quote me
until after the current mini-event.. thank you..

The Living Force
why would you quote me when I clearly asked you not too?

I'd think you'd ask or refer to me as the gender
I'm displaying, isn't that what you as a trans gendered want?

also your taking things both out of content and
if anything making trans person look bad,

I'm not younger then you, and when you refer
to me as a cis person after I asked you not to
guess what that's an incredibly offensive statement

but if you can't understand simple things
like this, I have no reason to keep
talking with you about this.. so I wont..

give respect, when it's given to you or
don't expect any in return.. good eve/day/morn
I quoted you because the Empire needed to be destroyed. It's really not that difficult to figure out. biggrin

I can't speak for anyone but myself. It is interesting, though, that you expect trans people to out themselves as trans in a relationship but you don't want to out yourself as non-trans? Why the double standard? You say that people should give respect in order to receive it, yet you do not respect trans people. You expect them to give information about themselves that you yourself would not. That's rather rude, don't you think? If a trans person is a liar for not telling someone they're trans, you're a liar for not telling someone that you aren't trans.

How do you know that you're older than I am? I sure wouldn't assume.

User Image
burning_eyes
On the star wars thing, that's just a matter
of chose or believe, and I like and supported the empire..

As far as our other topic, if you'd read any of most of
my comments on the trans topic I've told plenty of times
if I where trans or not and the fact that the other person, still
asked showed that either they didn't read the other post or ignored
my answer to that question, and so I didn't feel like yet again
repeating myself, as I'd already answered that question so many times
on here alone..

that also make the double standard comment of yours flawed
at best, as i'd already offered that information to all... so down to the
last bit of your comment.... I said again if there dating a person
I believe/ think it's fair to give that person the chose/option to
stay with the relationship or leave it again to me that's fair
rather then the other person finding out throw a third part, and then
have that/those question that they're not prepared for be asked..

I also gave examples of both someone being told up front and
others who didn't know find out and the things people would ask/say
about them, and the over all harassment they'd have to face...

My comment merely implies that the vast majority of women do so; it makes no comment in any direction as to whether or not men take part in those activities, or to what degree they might do so. Any implications otherwise are a result of you stretching for criticisms.

By your logic, they're lying simply by not mentioning the fact - regardless of why. As is anyone who fails to mention having had a nose job, or a surgical fix for a cleft palate, or implants (to throw in a few more examples.)

Also: by definition, you are cisgendered. And if you insist that I'm a liar for not declaring myself to be transgendered, then my insistence on referring to you as cisgendered is simply offering you the same respect (or lack thereof) that you're already showing me. If you downgrade it further, then I will follow suit.

Also By definition I'm a person, not a gender

By definition, you are many things. A person, a gender, a nationality, a member of a given culture or subculture, and possibly more than one. You're either single or in a relationship, which is yet another category I could refer to you by.

EthelbertOddity

and also
your gender title of me is something I don't agree with nor like

It's not a title, it's a qualifier. One that simply means "a person who's gender identity matches the one associated with their physical sex." There's no reasonable cause for you to disagree with it unless you are actually transgendered.

Your like or dislike of it is irrelevant. It's a valid descriptor for you, just as 'transgendered' is for me. And FTR, I don't particularly like being transgendered either. I've made my peace with it, but the baggage it carries still annoys me. Little things you'll never have to deal with, like... well, among others, the issue we're talking about right now.

EthelbertOddity

as I've asked very nice and respectfully to not referred to in
that term so I'll no longer show you the respect of calling you
the gender you identify with...

No loss, as you were clearly faking it in the first place.

EthelbertOddity

and we can always get as

Nor you, mine. Once again, you're asking me to offer more respect than you're willing to give. That's three, if we count the "please don't quote me" demands you were giving before.

EthelbertOddity

if you like I'll take off the kind gloves
(so to speck) and go full adult to adult curtly... the chose is yours
we either stay civil or not....

I prefer honest incivility to false civility, especially from one who harps on about others being dishonest.

True civility would be better than both, of course, but you haven't offered me that yet.
