for those who do not want to watch this video shows how the christian god would be if he were a firefighter. He would light fires and then let people burn up because he only saves those who believe in him and he will not save people because they have to have the free will to believe in him and by saving them when they need to be he is revealing his existence to them and taking away free will.

Oh, I thought the video was supposed to be relevant to today. Like, God is the fat cat who sat on my windshield and made the teensy crack I got five years ago spread two feet in one afternoon. Or, God is the group of young men beating up one gay youth coming out of a store. Or, God is the landlord increasing my rent by 35%. Or, God is a father raping his toddler.

This would fit the model in some denominations that "bad things happen because God is testing your faith," but this theory is not present throughout Christianity as a whole.

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah was written by people who believed that God is a wrathful and vengeful God. The Christian God--which this thread is supposedly about--has made new covenants with man which include not flooding the whole world anymore, not destroying entire cities because some of the people there raped angels, and so forth.

Furthermore, if the video were an analogy to S&G, the white firefighter would have not only admitted to starting the fire, but given a reason for it: for example, telling us that the guy who died in the apartment had been raping angels.
