Sarcastic perhaps, but also with a grain of truth. I would expect if whitepeoplemeet.com existed, there would indeed be cries of racism and exclusion. I can recall many many years ago, for example, that there used to be a Miss Black America competition, even though black women participated--and sometimes won--the "normal" Miss America pageant. Someone had the idea of creating a Miss White America in response to the black one, and it went over like a fart in church.

I understand the concept of blackpeoplemeet.com, but I don't enjoy the double standards.

Well....in my case, I didn't come out, I just let things flow, was myself, and it all kind of fell into place and they got a clue. I've yet to do the whole sit-down-let's-talk thing because I feel no need for that if it's already OBVIOUS.

It is wrong to separate races like that, but it is also right... Why? I know that if there were a whitepeoplemeet.com people would be upset, but the truth of the matter is that racism is still a prevalent force in the U.S., and white people are still predominantly catered to. It's probably incredibly easy for white people to find other white people on popular dating sites like eHarmony...because white people are still the most privileged, they really don't need a whitepeoplemeet.com. I mean, really. Sites catering to minorities [like seniorpeoplemeet.com and latinpeoplemeet.com as mentioned above] exist because strong communities of those minorities exist. So what's the big deal?

And I wouldn't say that being white alone would count as belonging to a "strong community" in the same sense either...the entire culture is dominated by white ideals so there really isn't a need or a place for one.
