The topic I want to discuss isn't really his comment, it's is it right to basically throw someone out of the science community because they said something society doesn't agree with? many people were ostracized over evolution when it wasn't "socially correct" isn't this the same thing?

Evolution was a radical, progressive idea that had Darwin's observations in the Galapogos to support it. This guy's archaic, racist, notions are pure unfounded bigotry.

Firstly evolution was considered very racist centuries ago, it claimed that whites came later thus were more "advanced" Darwin was completely unfounded his theory was based entirely off of thing he saw at different islands.

Considored racist? Because it didn't kiss the a** of the white man?
Yeah, funny how evolution is still respected today.. his theory isn't unfounded and has gained support from more recent findings. Try opening up a National Geographic once in your life.

Actually the Afro-American population to this day polled the lowest when ask if they believe in evolution. Of course NOW it isn't unfounded but it WAS when he published it.

Also I am a huge national geographic collector. I have issues from the 1930's.

Because the majority of Blacks are DEVOUT CHRISTIANS. And guess what Christians don't agree with because it counters their faith?

What does that first comment have to do with anything? Most of the religious population thinks that religion is against evolution, including white/black/whatever people.
What's your point? He had proof then, now even more now. This guy has NOTHING.
Well then I'm sure you know quite well that evolution had scientific backing then (although the idea was controversial of course) and has more backing now then ever. Just like how this man based his conclusions about black people over pure speculation. I don't see him make any reference to any study or statistic anywhere. It's just his high-horsed unfounded opinion.

No.

Darwin had evidence for evolution.

The only way to ever scientifically prove this point would be to take 50 white kids and 50 black kids into a classroom (preferably alone - no distractions) and teach them at the same levels while giving them all the same amount of attention. Do this for a year, then take an aptitude test over the materials learned.

That still leaves out how they were raised, for example it is a FACT that peoples scholastic achievement is proportional to their parents (biological or not). black people (In America at least) have a lower GPA, SAT score and lower probability to go on to college on average thus meaning there children would follow this path.

Side note: Studies show that Afro-American children raised by whites have the same scholastic path as white children.

Source is Wikipedia and off line publications.

For one, "off line publications" meaning what? If you can't provide a list of sources to really support your argument, then please don't bring it up.
As for the testing results, at the end of the day, that means very little because of the fact that the kinds of results that you're going to be getting from them is dependent on the kind of environment these individuals have lived in. Take black students who are within the same economic status as white kids and you're likely to get the same exact kind of testing result. Unfortunately, all of these studies don't tend to take into account that minorities compose the majority of this country's poor. And guess how that effects a students testings? It's hard to get complete straight A's out of every student when the class rooms are far too over crowded and the resources are outdated.

I believe you just repeated what I said making it more PC let me break this down. Black children raised in "poor" house holds will test worse AND black house holds tend to be "poor". how is this any different then saying "black children raised in black households tend to test worse" DO YOU HAVE ANY SOURCES?!
Ever heard of the halo effect? If a teacher is biased about race, and thinks that because of statistics white kids will do better than black kids, the teacher will pay more attention to the white kids to complete the self-fulfilling prophecy.

{The self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that inevitably causes itself to be true.}

Sociology is getting the best of me. sweatdrop

Alright, what was Darwin's evidence? If he had more then "I see this thus it must be true" I would love to know about it. post source please.

The difference is this:

You implied that there was causation in correlation, and Outrun pointed out that there was another factor.
Everyone keeps saying Darwin had proof. WHAT WAS THIS PROOF?! TELL ME!

Are you kidding? One of the most crucial parts of scientific theory proving is OBSERVATION..
Here!
This DNA guy made *assumptions* that were *unfounded* meaning he took them out of his a**. >.> No data. No examples. No observation. Certainly no experiments. Nada.
Who cares what James Watson has to say? Rosalind Franklin did most of the work in the discovery of the double helix, anyway.

This is not a debate about evolution, and I'm not going to debate evolution here.

You made an irrelevant logical fallacy ("Scientists were mocked in the past when they were right. This guy is being mocked. Therefore this guy is right." ) by trying to draw an analogy between evolution and this. I pointed out that your analogy was broken; what I should have done is told you that the argument in itself was flawed. Which it is. So don't use it to derail debate.

Because it's a logical fallacy. RACE is not the variable in the given situation, economic status is.
And LAWL. Please don't shift the burden of proof.

No observation? Every opinion is based on observation....how would an opinion NOT be based on observation?

Observation of actual data >.o Duh. Not assumptions rendered by personal experience or social stigma.
