Just to make things a bit clearer for you: the 'greeks' rooking books and spending and doing all those things are not the 'greeks' complaining. In other words the greek people and the political/economical elite of the country is not the same. The only fault you can give to greek people is for putting those politicians in power in the first place (and of course a little logic will leade you to the conclusion that our generation had nothing to do with votting them).
The problem with that dichtonomy is it suggests such contagion is limited entirely to the political classes of Greece. But sadly, as this example can be used to illustrate in part that simply isn't true. Further examples mentioned here or here. With it common business practise there to not declare payments; can you honestly proclaim it all down to a political/economical elite?
There's no need to make it clearer for me.

So, what are your thoughts?

Back in school, I was taught that everything can file for bancruptcy, except for countries. Nothing really bad could happen to countries financially, no matter what. You guys are nuts, do you know that? I want off this planet.

Greece's economy is in tatters and the people are becoming increasingly resentful towards Europe and their politicians. Civil disorder is going to increase. There is no practical way for Greece to pay off it's debts.

I personally believe Greece's economy should be left to fail.
I find it funny how they are angry at Europe for their own short comings.

I have to agree with just letting them fail and wallow in the economy they've made for themselves, but, everyone wants to be a hero.
A Really Bad Idea

Actuly no. Averages are just that: averages. It would be very simple if that was just the problem , wouldn't it? People would just ot have to pay a bit more and the problem would go away. But the thing is the majority of the people never took that money. *Some* people (see the endless articles about greek political corruption and economic scandals) took way more that those averages and those money are now simply gone to offshore banks or something. I'm not saying only 500-1000 people did the problem. I'm saying about 100k people did the problem. That's not by far the majority of the greek population and , again , I'm repeating myself here , my generation had nothing to do with it. Why should we have to pay for it?

1st article: Mostly true (thus more anger from my generation) But try to add up the numbers and the dept doesn't even come close to the real number if you think these are the main reasons for it.

2nd article: Not even close to truth and mostly blatand lies , at least not for the average houshold. Those numbers are comming from big companies bribing goverment employes for various thingies.

3rd article: See my answer on averages above.
Sounds like it could happen here. Like a foreshadow.

Athens becomes a sea of flames at least once a year. The Greeks love their riots.
I get a kick out of the fact that, the main reason they're having these riots is because they're basically begging the rest of the world for a bailout, and they said fine. But you have to cut all these stupid ******** expenses and make the citizenry get off their a** and get back to work, so they just naturally threw a s**t fit because, well, damn. They want it for free.
Kind of like having a neighbor get pissed because you and the rest of the community will pay his bills but ******** cable and PPVTV, because that's just wasting money, and he has some bizarre idea that he has a 'right' to that.

No , it's because we want the people who spend the money pay for them. See my answers above.
I can understand them though.
Bankers ruin countries and fill their pockets with so much money they will never be able to spend it.

In Athens right now, several buildings have gone up in flames in association with riots outside of the Greek parliament. Riot police have used stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the protestors. The topic is the cutting of government spending, wages and pensions in order to pay for a bailout of the debt-stricken country. The government basically says that this paln is needed in order to save their country from debt and the resulting consequences

So, what are your thoughts?
