I come into the thread and smile. Everything looks nice. Thought-provoking, well written article. I scroll down, and suddenly, pockybot. You sure have a knack for turning enlightenment and rationality into fearmongering, pocky. Every thread you touch dies. In every discussion that doesn't involve psychotics with a bad victim complexes you always bring up the same fruitless arguments, outdated quotes and out of context news articles and then you frame them in paranoia, which always smothers any intellectualism that was present in the thread beforehand.

I don't really consider 'I agree!' to be contributing much, which pretty much sums up my thoughts on the article... Otherwise I would post. The only reason I commented at all was because I needed to get that off my chest. Are you saying that pointing out pockypot is crazy isn't contributing though?

D'oh, I forgot to put a copy of my letter in the thread. Here is the letter from me that Amy Wallace forwarded to Wired:
Thank you for your article. I am autistic and I am sick of the anti-vaccine movement. They waste time and money that could go towards *helping* autistics. I'd love to see Jenny McCarthy be as passionate about job training, respite care, social skill classes, and providing communication devices to poor families as she is about spouting out anti-vaccine lies. It would be nice to see Generation Rescue replace their absurd (and dangerous) practice of promoting chelation with the practice of promoting proven safe treatments. I commend you for being brave too, because the anti-vaccine fanatics can be vicious. How do I know? Well, I've gotten sent messages ranging from "You hate my child and want him to suffer!" to "F*cking b*tch I'd kick your a** if I saw you at a rally protesting." Note these are people proclaiming to help autistics talking to an autistic. I don't protest because I literally fear getting hurt. I just spread the truth online and work for small victories. But, thank you. Hopefully your article has gotten more people to understand how destructive the anti-vaccine movement is.

I know this because I know several people who live in south africa who see it happen on a daily basis. Where is the proof on the internet, or in the news?
