In a way yes,but it did put hope in the southern vietnamese that someone out there did care about them.

WE are drilling in Alaska. We've been drilling there since 1970's. Duh.
And the Oil is intended for China, which is just booming in the automobile market.

And the next part- what? We have killed an untold number of civillians. Do you know that word? Innocent people- women, children. WHo knows how many? They won't even tell us. Maybe 50,000?

WE are drilling in Alaska. We've been drilling there since 1970's. Duh.

Yes, we have been doing LIMITED drilling in Alaska. There's many untapped areas that are protected, and fyi...we've been selling that oil to Japan since we started drilling it.

And on civilians...
Do you even understand that in many 3rd world countries that there is virtually no such thing as a civilian? I reccomend you either see or read Black Hawk Down. In many cultures, children and women will fight too.

weren't the viet cong all for communism and didn't they travel from north vietnam into south vietnam to go against america.

The only wars that we became involved in to STOP a conflict, not START one, were WW1, and WW2.

WW1 and WW2, for the longest time, we just sold weapons to both sides. So come on, that's murder there. WE ar giving them the guns and the oil, because we sold oil to them too, to go out and kill people. Had we not done that, especialyl to the offensive nations, the war's probably would have ended quicker.

Now Vietname War, like Iraq, was about corporate interests.
Except instead of oil interests, it was defense and military intesrests. America was involved in Vietname years before the war broke out.
We helped get it started. How else can one explains taking sides (when what the coutnry just wanted was to be united) or the CIA backing capitalist interests?

We lost that war. American soldiers died. They died for nothing. We didnt' stop communism (which was just a cover) -
Its just like Iraq. We aren't there for the people. THE people hate us. They want us to leave. We are there because they have oil.
