Last week, Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-zawahiri announced that Al-Qaeda would merge with the Somali militant group known as Al-Shabab. There is to be a gathering today outside of Mogadishu in support of this merger. My thoughts are, is this a major thing? I'd never heard of Al-Shabab before now, and would adding them to Al-Qaeda change anything?

So al Qaeda allegedly was supposed to have pulled off a massive summer blockbuster movie event like the 9/11 tragedy...but all they've allegedly been able to do is an underwear bomb attempt since?

The whole Islamic extremist terror thing is passe'. It's old, even the US has declared they're no longer focused on it and are moving on to strategizing against major country wars in the future. And a recent report said there is NO Muslim extremist threat to America...that we're more likely to see violence by white right wing extremists like with what Norway experienced.

Somalia's biggest problem is the worst famine in the world, not some cavemen wishing it was 80's Afghanistan

Al-Shabaab wants to join the international fight so that they can get international support, more funding and foreign fighters to join their cause. Their fighters have already been identified as part of militant groups in other African nations, but I am not convinced we will see their influence expand significantly. They wield very little power internationally, mostly because they're dirt poor.

If "al Qaeda" was busy attacking Iranian interests, you'd see the CIA and Israel financing and supporting them

al Qaeda has and will always be nothing but a strategy of tension proxy force for the highest bidder. They're about as independent as Taco Bell.

I knew the horn of Africa was a generally corrupt shithole I just didn't know the details of it. If they get Al-Qaeda funding though, wouldn't that improve their chances or at least increase their nuisance level to the locals? It doesn't sound like a thing to just dismiss either way because this seems like a way to increase their funds, weapons, and recruitment.

Most of al Qaeda's funding comes from state sponsors and wealthy Arab elites and corporations.

But a lot of Africa suffers from some pretty unyielding problems. Hell ya got conflicts to this day with child sacrificing devil worshipping militias, child soldiers, and parts of Nigeria where they have farms that produce babies to sell for all sorts of sick purposes.

Ya got people like Bill Gates thinking he's some savior, and big pharma...not many organizations are doing actual good. Certainly not Christian NGO's spreading bibles over contraception and AIDS drugs

They want to put Somalia under Islamic rule, but the population doesn't want that, and US-funded Ethiopians want the region under control of US market interests, and the population doesn't want that either. So they fight the people and the Ethiopians simultaneously, with little resources other than what weapons they can borrow from Islamo-fascist countries like Saudi-Arabia and anti-Ethiopian nations like Eritrea.

Wha? Saudi Arabia would never support Islamic extremists...they're our friends committed to fight jihadism! rofl rofl rofl

The last thing the US wants is a loose cannon organization destabilizing an already shaky house of cards. Israel's actions are ******** up the sort of status quo and it's very uncomfortable.

I think it's just a sign of desperation. They've lost, but they don't know it yet.

More accurately, al Qaeda has served their globalist elite master's purpose, and no longer have a use in the food chain. al Qaeda was the globalists fun toys all throughout the 80's, 90's(Serbia/Bosnia/Egypt/Algeria), 2000's(9/11, 7/7, 3/11, etc) and now they don't need em.

Wait thats not true. Israel needs to use al Qaeda umbrella groups to attack Iran. But other than that, yeah al Qaeda didnt get the memo. The war on terror hoax is over...the West is moving onto major ww3 like conflicts soon

Inconsistent With Reality

Al-Qaeda doesn't have funding worth anyone's time anymore.

True. Especially since most their money in the 90's and early 2000's mostly came from America's best pals in the Muslim region, which became a sort of liability.

Just go with the flow and learn a few phrases. They don't expect you to sit and listen to an hour long sales pitch for their arthritis-stricken donkey. Be cool and they usually smile and let you go along your day.

Well when Somalia is controlled by a militia whose leader is some American idiot kid who has the worst raps I've ever heard, it's easy to laugh. Though, what's not funny of course is how they regularly beat and cut off the limbs of random people.

I smell a conspiracy theory. I've no doubt there are probably Arab elites funding it, but globalist elite masters? Really?

Arab elites are part of the transnational cabals. You didnt think the globalist were all old white men smoking cigars? smile I also consider Chinese elites part of it...goodness knows the Chinese have financed and profitted from war for their bloodthirsty oil love in the last decade

Heres the truth of who finances and controls al Qaeda
(strangely from a documentary on Falconry camps in Dubai)

Let's put it another way. Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, UAE, etc has been caught financing Sunni Islamic terror groups and militants. The US, UK, etc does multi billion dollar deals with them, often dovetailing around "the war on terror" that these Muslim nations secretly fund. It's not a conspiracy theory, just an open conspiracy noone cares about
