Men who try to tell women what is feminism or what isn't feminism is exactly why we need feminism. Some men are pissed off it's called feminism and not coined something more gender neutral (which can be a reason why they claim to be anti-feminist) - and them being pissed off about it is yet another reason why we need feminism. If a woman/genderqueer person tells you "this is feminism", or "this is why we need feminism" or "this is sexist so please stop doing it!" it is no way EVER okay for a man to start disputing it. Do you know what makes a woman feel uncomfortable? If you are not a woman, you will NEVER know. You can't speak for other women. You SHOULDN'T speak for other women. You shouldn't fight against their suffrage and tell them that they're wrong for feeling a certain way. Only women (and genderqueer people) can clearly define what their inequality feels like, and so men as the highest privileged gender would do well to listen to them and stop trying to assert their dominance over everything and everyone in an attempt to remain #1 (aka the #1 douchebag).

Based solely off what you just typed, you have NO room to talk about men and their approach toward this issue or the fact of their approach to demanding it be called equalism rather than feminism because YOU aren't a male and thus cannot fathom how this affects them or what they think about it in any way, shape or form.
You have no idea what it means coming from the male perspective and attempting to act like you do is a gross and wanton display of ignorance.

You need feminism because it must go unquestioned? I'm not sure I follow. Disagreeing with feminist theory or argument is not necessarily "speaking for women".

Feminism IS equality. Full equality. To have it questioned by men is to question their rights for equality, which is...obviously sexist. Why would anyone question a person's basic rights if they weren't trash? Feminism is called feminism because that's how it started off, with women trying to get their ability to vote, bringing power to the otherwise powerless women. It was appropriately called feminism because it was a feminine movement mostly brought on by women. Now it's different, now it's all inclusive, and we have disabled people, trans people, genderqueer people, people of all kinds of races, ethnicity, etc, and yes even cis men. But to petition a change of the name of feminism is not usually with the purpose to make it sound inclusive of all these factors, it's mostly because of whiny bitchy men who can't stand that something is named after women. Why are your egos so fragile that you can't identify with a ******** word that even references women? Just ******** get it: you can be a man AND a feminist, and if you aren't, then every woman isn't safe around you because you obviously don't agree with their basic human rights.
