Welcome to Gaia! ::

Can someone please explain to me what the hub-bub is?

I mean, the movie looks incredibly stupid, and I keep getting these different stories that the earth will stop rotating. or there will be a huge close earth object...

or jesus will come down from the heavens and prove to us that he was really just a man behind a curtain...

Seriousl whats up with 2012?

Google it?

It's not going to happen anyway, so many people think it will because the ones who predicted it predicted a bunch of other things..people are just paranoid =/.

EDIT:: Also, I was taking an anthropology/archaeology class since it's my major and we talked about this phenomenon and how the Mayans predicted so many other things..but what they meant by this was not the literal end of the world..it was more just a shift of sorts is going to happen.
Right right, the Mayans who predicted the end of our world, but couldn't predict a white man coming with guns and killing them off...

Look It Up For Yourself. Make Your Own Opinion. Don't Be Influenced By Our Bullshit Stories.
Google "Nibiru"
That's The Most Dominant Thought About 2012. It's Actually A Pretty Interesting Theory. Not Likely, But Interesting.

It's when the mayan calender resets. People think because there is nothing after that date it means the world will end.

Just another Y2K
It's just propaganda, Hollywood needs good story to sell and 2012. prophesy is good story to be sold...That's all...

Yes,Mayan prophesy does not say it's end of material world, according to Mayan calendar that's the date when one cycle ends...
It's just another era. We're coming to the end of one now, and another will begin on 2012, according the Mayan's calendar.
It does not mean the world is ending. just this era. It's already ended once before. At the start of this era.
If it ended then, and we're still around... it would lead one to conclude that the world is not going to end. Yes?
The 2012 movie = The Day After Tomorrow movie with an expiration date.

Both nonsense.
I suggest "How enlightenment will lead to genocide" on Youtube.

Everything that was designed and/or fabricated to go wrong by elitists, occult, satanist groups (the inluminati, hierarchy, ect.) around 2012 will. I.E. poverty, polution, natural disasters (unatural, being that humans are tampering with climate and techtonic plate control), alien encounters (humanoid encounters, being that it will be staged, most likely with new technology and influenced by the American Government), power outage, genocide. Look it up for yourself and say your prayers. biggrin

Conspiracy theory nonsense. This is even worse than believing in a stupid pseudo-scientific or religious end to the world.
It's not going to happen. I doubt some crazy natural phenomenon will happen, but if it does, it'll be human-based. That is, if you have paid any attention to the world and the economy at all.

They might have paid attention to the real threats if these ludicrous end of the world prophecies weren't so prevalent.

Anyone talking about peak oil now is automatically grouped with the doomsday loonies.

They actually did predict that. FYI.
The end is nigh! We must repent!
