I respect their thoughts, however, I do not think that the end of the world is going to come that soon, because we've all been saying that for a very long time, and now I just think we're making guesses since all of our other predictions failed.

Ironinically December 21st 2012 with be my mom's 47th birthday, Happy B-Day Mom! This theory is derived from two sources I can think of. The first is the Mayan calendar, according to which the fifth world (I think) will end on this exact date, therefore a new world will be ushered in, so maybe the end of the world will be a good thing? The other is from a European scholar (can't remember his name) who took the Chinese I Ching and calculated all possible outcomes of the fortune-telling technique and came up with 12/21/2012 as the last day of Earth. I watched all this on I think the History Channel. Still the Apocalypse has been prophecized(sp?) for thousands of years and we're still going. I should like to see if anything significant happens on that day though.

I am going to wait 'till 12/21/12 untill I make my descision. If the world becomes messed up enough to end human life on that very day, so be it. But we've predicted the end of the world before, and we are still here... I think...

Who cares. We all know that there's an end to everything there is. Whether that's the end of the earth or not I don't think it's that big of a deal. I think it comes from the fact that so many people feel death. And you all forgot about 06/06/06. I wasn't even allowed out of the house on that day.

2012 is actually the end of the Mayan calendar, not necessarily a prophecy that "the world is going to end". At the most it's going to be an end of an era and a shift in overall mental awareness. Nobody is going to spontaneously combust or explode, if you are one of those people, breweries are still making plenty of beer. Go have a pint or two and live your life instead of fearing the end.
