you dont know dat tho its not a proven fact of life that sum1 wont be as good dedication and heart with a strong mind can accomplish alot and ppl who learn frm other ppl probaly learn faster but gotta work just as hard to get dat fighter body they want

Yeah but when both people have that dedication and heart the guy learning will come out first above the self-taught guy.

mmk he might come out first but dosent mean he can always win against every hard trained self taught person he come across

Yes he would. The dedicated martial artist will beat them cause he's training just as hard as the self-taught guy and his skills will be far better in all areas.

ur tryna make it sound as if its a proven fact of life dat martial artist always win when in reality they dont they can get beat just as easily as a sorry self taught person

I don't see a serious self-taught person winning against someone thats serious in Muay Thai, or BJJ.

i know u cant and it may sound hard to believe but dude this stuff can happen i used to think tkd was the shiz-nit and could beat any1 ,but in the end its ones skills man

true martial art is the exspression of the human body. If you follow a style you are not truly expressing yourself. you are mechanical. following set forms and functions. now tell me, in a real fight are you going to make sure you are in this stance with this form and you correctly chamber and release your punch??? i doubt it. see Jeet Kune do. Liberate yourself.

looks like you're still following a style. maybe YOU need to express yourself.

sorry, my bad.
I don't believe that following a style will make you rigid or make you lose in a fight. If you go into a fight with absolutely no training, sure, you might win some and maybe live to brag about it, but you have a greater chance of succeeding of you have training. If you know how to react, and when to react with what strikes/defenses, then you are definitely in a better spot. (But we all know Martial Arts are for defense, not aggression)
I don't thank that many of us with Martial Arts experience are going to fret over our stances or forms in a fight anyway. We will use what comes to our minds. If it is a proper move, than that's bonus points.

That's just my two sense about it.
