Muay Thai beats both

Not really well depending on what Kenpo your talking about. There is chinese kenpo that in our society wouldnt work very well. Then there is Ed Parker Kenpo which if used correctly could dominate. Though if you really think about it, the martial artist himself has more do with the martial art style itself. If we were talking about a no-holds fight to the death Kenpo is supperior to Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai. Muay Thai has great clinch control kicks and knees but, they still abide by rules unlike Kenpo where we will hit you in the groin rake your eye and punch you in the throat. Tae Kwon Do the weakest link in this disscussion by far in my opinion has great foot work and kicks but, fails in most other aspects. To many times I see in sparring matches where all Tae Kwon Do does is just kick and never follow up with a backnuckle or a reverse punch. Its terrible. Another problem with Tae Kwon Do along with Muay Thai is the fact it totally negates people who grapple now. Who can double leg you or just straight up head lock you and pound from full mount. There is no defense to someone who is an experinced wrestler or some sort of ground fighting expert who knows how to take you to the floor. All in I think Kenpo is one of the best martial art styles.

So Kenpo>Tae Kwon Do

That is your oppinion, but I personally take TKD and I am a 2nd Black belt, and whilst I was in a competition I punched my oppoenent in the stomach, bear in mind he was wearing padding which is lined with first wool padding and then wood, I broke the wood and made him cough up blood. It all depends on how deteremined the fighter is to win, to how hard they hit. [I broke my knuckles with that punch]

Ok thats great but, now heres my question what style was your oppenent using what rank was he. How intense was your competion what tournament was this? Another thing is like I have always said before if you double leg a TKD fighter get them in the clinch or just straight up go impose your will on a TKD fighter putting them in a head lock and just dragging them to the floor. Most of them dont have a clue. Here let me just show you a TKD martial artist against a Muay Thai kick boxer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcoprF6_FOM

Which martial art interests you BETTER? I think TKD is epic, but I've read a manga where the main characters do kenpo, and it seems really fun. So whadda you like best?

@ APinoySuperHero: He was same rank as me, same martial arts, and the competition was for gold in the brisith championship, so yeah a pretty heated fight, and I was named the british champion under 15s. But I've quit because I can't be assed with TKD anymore XD.

If you go here you can read up on a great school. Here we train in Al Tracy's Kenpo Karate. I love it here and I have a blast training with my dad. My dad and I have been there for about 3 years now and still training there. The instructors there are very nice and it is a kind environment. It is NOT a traditional school. We offer kickboxing and boxing classes and privet lessons. Just browse the website and you will see what I mean.
