I think Shogun's fighting style is kind of tailor made for Machida. Highly agressive and very entertaining. The thing I kind of see a problem Shogun presenting to Machida is his ground game but, even then I think Machida's ground game is better. So as far as Shogun vs Macida goes I dont really care for it because I have a pretty good idea on how the fights going to play out.

Franklin vs Belfort is alot more interesting for me. On one hand I am big Franklin fan and I love that guy. On the other I want to see Belfort and have some matches against Wandy, Hendo, and Silva.

But, the most important match in my mind is Lesnar vs Carwin. This is the point where Lesnar is either going to show how truely limited his game is or is going to give us another era to the heavy weight division. Though I do think Carwin has a good chance from stopping Lesnar and bringing back a little more class from a champion. I mean honestly if Lesnar wins who is going to beat him. He has already fought two of the top ten guys in the HW division and beat them badly. Nog's style is going to get him knocked out. Sure his chin is durable as hell but, he stands straight up with not alot of head movement. Cain doesnt have the size. Kongo and Cro Cop dont have the takedown defense. Carwin is the best chance in the HW division and I hope he makes a shot heard around the world and takes out Lesnar.

I'm excited for both the shogun/machida as well as franklin/belfort. I do think Machida is good on the ground but I'd personally give Shogun the edge there, and he certainly has the power advantage. Machida is just like a greased chicken man it's so hard for his opponents to just get their hands on him, and even when they do get him in the clinch or tied up, they get tossed to the ground, but I don't think Lyoto will be able to get Shogun down like that, I'm EXTREMELY excited for this fight, thought I do think Lyoto will win and I'm sure he's the favorite, I'm a big Shogun fan and will be rooting for him 100% It's funny because on the UFC 104 card that are several fights where some of my favorite fighters are fighting my GF's favorite fighters and we usually go for the same person. dramallama

As far as the Franklin/Vitor fight I'm in the same boat as you, Franklin is and always has been one of my favorites and I usually want him to win, but this time I just think it will be better for the MW division if Vitor gets the win...it should be a great fight either way and Franklin is a stiff test for anyone's return to the cage.

For the Carwin/Lesnar fight, I can honestly say I just want to see Lesnar lose, I don't care who he loses to or how he loses, I just want him to lose. I really hope Carwin makes him eat some leather and puts him to sleep.

If Vitor wins it just means more people for Silva to beat. I love Machida but, god I want Silva to just fight in another division of make something interesting and fight at HW just so I can remember that Silva actually has lost a fight before.

Those two were the closetest to beating Silva but, even then Silva was able to pull through. I think if Dan just sticked to his wrestling and ground and pounded Silva out he would do fine but, Nate is a different story. There arent any aspects I see Nate beating Silva in so unless a miracale happens I see a first round stoppage. PS if Dan beats Silva its by lay and pray not trying to disrespect Hendo but, you just dont want to take any chances against Silva.

I thought that was a great night of fights, the Quarry/Credeur fight was superb and the rest of the fights were exciting as well. I was scared for Condit at first but he showed some heart and pulled through to get the win. Huerta impressed my by not tapping from that Kimura, I was tapping and I was sitting on the couch.

Glad to see Kos, Griffin, Escudero and Belfort ALL win in impressive fashion, I expect big things from these guys in the future. UFC 103 was a great card and I think exceeded most people's expectations.

Indeed ...
This kind of changed the outlook of the 185 division. How do you think its going to work now? Who should Belfort have to go through to get his shot. Should Hendo get the shot and the have Nate and Vitor fight it out. Or maybe Nate gets the shot and we have ourselves a Hendo vs Belfort rematch.

Sidenote:Belfort vs Wandy Dana make it happen.

Lol I don't really wanna see Vitor/Wand. I'm a huge Wand fan and I don't wanna see him KO'd, and I don't think a win over Wand merits a title shot at this point. I like the Dan first title shot then Nate/Vitor idea. Dan deserves it a tiny bit more than Nate IMO.
Or Belfort should fight Okami ... Dan definitely gets first debs on Anderson ... then Nate ... winner of Belfort/Okami should get next crack ... of course this is assume that Okami gets past Sonnen ...
Okay ... what do you guys think ... who will win ... also discuss the other fights on the card ...

UFC 104 (subject to change)
UFC Light Heavyweight Championship
Lyoto Machida (No. 1 LHW, No. 4 PFP) vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (No. 4 LHW)

Ben Rothwell vs. Cain Velasquez
Josh Neer vs. Gleison Tibau
Spencer Fisher vs. Joe Stevenson
Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Yushin Okami (No. 3 MW) vs. Chael Sonnen (No. 9 MW)
Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer
Chase Gormley vs. Stefan Struve
Patrick Barry vs. Antoni Hardonk
Jorge Rivera vs. Rob Kimmons
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Razak Al-Hassan
Really?

I mean Hendo beat Franklin a very good MW but, beating Bisping not so much.

Nate beat Maia but, lets face Maia is the most overrated fighter I have ever seen. So guess him beating Maia puts him in the same spot. He beat a good fighter not very good just good. >.>

So we could determin a true number one contender by having Dan and Nate then have Vitor fight somone else in the mean time. For the next contender.

Okami, Maia, or I am crossing my fingers WANDY!

And where are your people's faith in Wandy?

Im sure his chin is good enough to let him lose by UD!
