Welcome to Gaia! ::

I think Diego is very over confident in this mouth to lightweight, so I think that would be a great opening for The Carpenter. Plus, I don't really like Diego. He's weird.
I am definitively more interested in the Japanese MMA scene more so because I really do enjoy what gets put on by the Japanese in how they allow for the flashier entrances. I still think that the better fighters are for the most part in the UFC outside of the lightweight and heavyweight divisions, excluding a select few in Shields, Lawler, Sobral, Nogueira and Belfort, more so when it comes to determining the top ten in each division.

Diego's stand up is not that great IMO, he's pretty unorthodox where he uses his uppercut far more often than most but in doing so he leaves himself wide open and any competent, quick striker could make him take a good hook and take him right out of his game plan, that and the front kick to force him to have to try and jab it out, something I feel that he cannot do.
Yeah, even though Diego knocked out Luigi, I don't think his stand-up is as good as HE thinks it is. I think someone like Sherk would expose that, despite his T-Rex arms.

I love the announcer lady from Pride.

Well, since Clay was pretty much destroyed on his feet by Nick Diaz, I imagine Diego will be able to handle him. However, if Guida can push the pace with grappling for 3 rounds, maybe he can exhaust Sanchez. That is pretty much his only chance.

Pretty much. Guida by decision

I think a split decision either way.

He wasn't completely dominated in the stand-up. I was just two different styles going at it. With Clay Guida it is more like a caveman style. When he swings, he swings. With Nate Diaz, it was more of a picking process. He threw a lot of jabs that would set up for a submission.

That's my opinion.
I see what you mean, I just feel like Clay won't have anything to say on his feet but he's going to aggressively cling to Diego. That is what I'm interested in. If Diego can stop Clay's pace and wrestling.

I don't think that is possible. Guida is relentless.
It's okay because once Kenny loses to BJ and Diego wins or loses Kenny will be asking for Diego since he can't handle the wrestlers.

I don't know. I think Kenny Florian has a chance of beating BJ Penn.

I agree. Kenny Florian basically took out all the previous contenters to get to this point. He may just win this one.
Kenny is far too overrated IMO. He's definitely a good fighter but I think against big Lightweights he'd get run over, especially against guys like Gray Maynard. You get those good strong wrestlers on him and they'll manhandle Kenny. I have done three seminars with Sherk now and he keeps telling me that Kenny would still lose to him off of takedowns alone. If Kenny manages to beat Penn then Sherk will simply take it away from him.
Just found this topic. Sorry if I get us off topic abit here but, when or if Silva beats Griffin who does he have left as a challenge. He could fight GSP because natrually GSP walks around 190ish so its possible. Though if they were to fight I feel that GSP will proably get dominated in the standup and have a hard time keeping Silva on his back. Though GSP proably has the best wrestling Silva has ever gone up against (equal or abit aboved Hendo give or take). So he still does have a shot against Silva. Its just that Silva is proably the most dominant fighter between him and Fedor to ever grace the planet.

The winner of Henderson and Bisping should get first crack. Then the winner of Marquardt and Maia. And then Okami.

And what makes you think Forrset Griffin is going to lose?
