thanks. some one already made a TKD thread in the subforum if you'd like to pop in there and check it out.

but any way. class tomorrow nite, at the moment i am not looking forward to it, but that's just because i'm tired right now...i dread the thought of any and all movement when i'm tired...no matter how far in the future.

I can understand that. Working two jobs and going to school doesn't exactly leave me enthusiastic about training, but I have to at least once a week if I want to get any improvement out of it.
so, i made a post in the 'will MMA ever be a school sport' thread, and they're trying to say my argument is invalid because of my karate training.

but any way, i'm currently unemployed (but looking) but when i was working security, walking about for about 7 hrs a day, getting off at 4 at the dojo by 5, and training karate 6:30-8:45, then MMA from 9-10:30, that sucked, luckily i only had to work before class once a week.
I 've been training in mixed martial arts for about a year now ... I have a wrestling and boxing background ... so I'm just adding a few things to my game to improve ... got a record of 8 - 0 - 1, 1 NC ... I also do Zulu stickfighting ...

I think it is because of the philosophies in karate vs MMA's lack off ... I personally think if you can adapt karate to MMA like what Lyoto Machida did ... you have a good combination ...
I have also trained in mixed martial arts. Been training and fighting for about 1.5 years. I have a record of 10 - 1 - 0. I also train in knife fighting, archery, and I know how to use a tomhawk ... I'm Apache after all ...

well, the philosophy of karate is if you fight...win, in any underhanded dirty way you can.

like shihan john roseberry said
"keep distance before a fight, if you have good distance, you can see your attacker in advance. If I see my attacker before he gets to me, I'm going to pick up a brick, and crack him over the head, then I'll use my karate"
xp i love that old man....u never heard me call him old...i mean i love that 73 yr young man...ya thats what i mean.
whew...i'm still tired...riding after class isn't easy...
'Ello. Sorry for the lack of postage - busy 'n such. Thanks for the promo sekchi (you'll have to pm me to explain what I do with it...).

I've had my issues with some of the MMA world, but I will admit that there are some fighters out there I genuinly respect and admire. I've seen "mixed martial artists" who have virtually only trained in one traditional style who wipe the floor with so many of these guys who just dabble in different style - a blue belt here and there, a purple belt over there. Everything is adaptable, regardless of the sport. I just had the parent of a student tell me today that their child has picked up so well on rollar blading because of Taekwondo. My master always points out that everything physical is relative - fighting is dancing, dancing is soccer, soccer is fighting.

*ahem* Rant over (for nowwww).

ya, i know what you mean. i took a motorcycle course, so i could get cheaper bike insurance, and when the coaches explained things, and why we were doing super tight turns as slow as possible, it was all i could do not to start explaining if you can do something slow it will be easier fast, and relate that back to karate.

That reminds me I have to go to traffic school next week... I relate just about everything to martial arts. Well, I relate everything to everything I suppose. I would love to write a book some day.

lol, ya i know. i find myself writing about something all the time for some reason, but i don't know why, but i just have a hard time writing anything having to do with karate down. like when learning katas, kisos, and bunkais, we're told we should take notes, but i just can't find a way to write any notes....it's weird i sit down to write the notes and my mind just goes blank.

I know that feeling. Lately when I have an idea I like I write it down right away.
By any chance do you plan to have your own program in the future?

Fun class last night. There were 8 black belts and 5 color belts and none of the color belts were junior belts, they just looked around and said it looked like a black belt class to them. An hour and a half of straight conditioning and sparring, ending with strength drills. I was so pumped and exhausted at the same time, it was ridiculous. Good times though.

lol, ya. i love it when the only people in class are seniors (rankwise) you could start on something like kata (realatively boring if it's review) and end up working all kinds of fun things. xd

yup, it just makes things more fun in general. A couple guys were talking smack and the black belts heard, it was too funny, they got to be the examples for every drill, even tho no one really needed an example... rofl rofl rofl
