I study Aikido and my MA lineage is....

Uyeshiba => Koichi Tohei => My sensei's sensei => Sensei Rene Cornell => Me

I'm 5th generation. surprised
My lineage is a bit branched out.

For Taekwondo it goes:
Chang Moo Kwan, Byung Chul Chang, Me
or
Oh Do Kwan, Chun Woo Lee, Bobby Morales, Me

So for Taekwondo I'm both 2nd and 3rd generation!
Hm, well apparantly my original instructor got his 1st degree blackbelt from the founder General Choi himself! So under this logic I could be considered 2nd generation.

However since I've had to swap association for practical reasons any future grading will likely be under someone else.
Ip Man taught Cheung Cheuk Hing (William Cheung) who taught my Sifus Masters Jerry and Ronda Bolding. Ip Man I have found had various teachers or people who expanded his lessons in Wing Chun. My Sifu had previous training in various arts like Jujitsu but I don't know much about it all. All I can say for sure is that he held several ranks in Jujitsu but after studding in Australia with Grandmaster Cheung he stopped training anything else but Wing Chun.
well, good to see this place hasn't died out in my absence. when i go back after my leave i'll be talking to MWR about starting to teach classes on base if they can find me a space that works for me.

I did Tae Kwon Do up to blue belt, then had to stop. Iv'e been doing Aikido for about three and a half years now, testing for green belt in a couple of weeks, been doing Kung Fu for a few months, at yellow sash right now, hopefully getting promoted soon.

Lineage for Aikido
Ueshiba-Tomiki-?? (not sure exactly who came next)-Stevens Shihan- Stevens Sensei- Me

Why did you have to stop, if you don't mind me asking? razz

I've been thinking of picking up aikido and kung fu myself, since theres clubs for both on my college campus, how have you been finding them?
How has everybody else been? I managed to wrangle my way for First Place in a local Judo competition.
