@ senor Clyde Smith: Why sank you very many muches.

@ Believe and no regrets: Why yes, this thread is still alive. Ever so sort of. Wha's up?
CONT.-
Oh my Gawd. *Jaw drops*
This thread's still around!
My main's the first reply. Lulz!

Being an assistant teacher and the daughter of the instructor, I attend class for free. $95 a month? The going rate for my class is $20 per person for 9 weeks, and $50 for a family of 3 or more for 9 weeks.

That seems like a killing, the $95.

I tried to read the entire WTF post, put pulled out half-way. ^^' (I tried. Be back later, when people are on.)

OMG!!! i thought this thread died loooong ago! i read that article you posted on WTF btw and im surprised that they've changed so much. i personally practice under the ITF and i havent noticed much being changed there besides names of forms (for political purposes, go figure) and minor details on specific movements that would add to stability or effectiveness of the application. one example of a name change we made fairly recently was a 2nd degree form that we used to call Ju-Chae was changed to Qu-Dong, becauseit was originally named for a North Korean (our current president and his father, the founder of the are both South Korean)
Things should stay the same. There's a tradition that's been created there so why change things around?
@ Believe and no Regrets: Really? Wow! In my area (southern california) almost no schools charge less than $100 a month! I think it just has to do with the cost of living around here also. Heheh, thanks for almost finishing the WTF post! ^.^
Oh, btw, really spiffy avi!

@ Little Takehiko: Hi! Welcome back! See, I know very little about the inner workings of the ITF. Really though, I should look into it more. In the martial arts world, just like in every thing else, there are disturbingly a lot of politics, so it really doesn't surprise me. But the Kukkiwon and the WTF are taking it just a lil' too far I be thinkin.

@ Clyde Smith: I know what you mean. When it comes to Taekwondo I am a traditionalist. I teach with traditional methods for the most part ('cause I can't smack my students legs with a bamboo sword of course ^_^), and I train with traditional methods and concepts. As far as I go, I'm not changing my style, other than learning and getting better and traditional concepts.
Well i don't pay to take Judo or Wrestling because i take it in High School. smile
@ Leaf Condition: Lucky! Your high school offers Judo? Man, I think all high schools should offer some type of martial art.
Mine only offered wrestling.
I haven't seen any public high school that doesn't have a wrestling team. But I think it would be amazingly beneficial if public schools integrated martial arts programs as an option to get at least some of your PE credit.
There are so many to pick from not sure which would be the best for a school. With all the McDojos' out there people have alot to choose from if willing to pay anyway.
@goingd: That's insane. ^.^' Lulz on the avi comment. XD How long are the classes where you attend/teach? Our class lasts about an hour and a half. It would normally be two, but the studio hours that were available to us only permits the 1 1/2 long class.

Agreed!
My friend took a dance fitness class last year, and an assignment the students had to do was teach the class a "dance." My friend talked it over with the gym teacher, and got permission to instead teach a Tae Kwon Do form (white belt). The teacher joined a class, and is now a yellow-green belt. xd
@ Clyde Smith: That's a good point. I guess we'd have to just watch out. I mean, most colleges actually offer some type of martial art to get units with.

@ Believe and no regrets: My classes are an hour long. They give me two hours to teach two classes. It's the same at the main studio but with four classes. In high school the most I ever got to do involving school and martial arts was get a picture and a quote on the martial arts page of the yearbook... But then again I was part of yearbook, and I'm the one that suggested the whole page. xd
well my school offers judo because i live in hawaii

almost ever school in hawaii has a judo program
