um band isn't really a sport and more of a hobby and of the arts

A.K.A
WHAT ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE SAID!!!
yeah. if you were in a marching band then yes. it's soooo tiring D: but still worth it in the end.
If you're n Marching Band, absolutely. Requires alot of cardio work out, focus, and maintaining a healthy body as well as discipline. Check out some groups. Blue Devils, Phantom Regiment, Santa Clara Vanguard and many more. Its DCI (Drum Corps International).
I would consider it a sport because of the ability required for it. Along with competing. However, in school it counts as a PE credit because of amount of physical work it involves. Lots of running, and working out. Holding instruments, and playing while running and marching around the field for a 7-11 minute show.

Definition: 1.) Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
2.) An athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature

Marching Band definitely falls under that, so yes. It is a sport. However, just regular band, not so much.
band is not a sport
sorry
Hmmm.... what you say you are doing, yes. But, cheer-leading is a sport, but no one thinks it is. There are a lot of sports that people don't count.
while it can meet the requirements, i wouldnt call it a sport.

Now, i will say, it can easily be just as hard/challenging as any sport out there.

(this from someone who spent 13 years in marching band.)
Not necassarly, but you do march outside,so maybe. eek

normal band isn't, marching band isn't but it's brutal one week of training and i quit. according to schools now though marching band counts as a P.E. class and it is competitive so i guess it technically could be called a sport but if skateboarding "isn't a real sport" then i don't think band is sorry.
