I'm starting a paintball field, any tips?

i'm thinking of starting a paintball field but im not completely sure of what im getting into lol its gonna be indoor in a 4 - 5 story building with netted windows and a bunch of crap inside for bunkers and cover and stuff. im thinking $10 charge for general admission and $25 for partys of 7-12 or something like that. to rent it would be like $50 or so im thinking. and once i get it set up maybe open a proshop for tippmann or something, what do you guys think? confused any tips? idea any questions? question .....any criticisms? stare

Good luck with that business. I don't know how popular paintball is around your area, but there are a few things that always makes for a pleasant experience (for me at least).
A good, professional staff is always good. I hate places where they put their kids as their refs because: 1) I don't trust them and 2) I can't see them most of the time.
Secondly, a schedule. Some places have scheduled matches where anyone can join, but I always found that they're very messy with preparation. A large board or something like that would be cool since it's always nice to know important information and what's happening when (i.e. capture the flag at 10:00, meet at this location, etc.).
Other than that...i don't know. Nothing comes to mind.

I'm a refferee at my local field

$10 seems kind of cheap but it really depends on the area and $25 for a party group doesn't make any sense. Your looking to make a profit off this.

Lunch is always great and you can make money of it, try grilling hot dogs or something.

have a stageing area and have field rules posted everywhere.

be familiar with the commonly band paint, i.e. monster ball

A microphone or loud speaker is great for getting everyone ready for the next game in the stageing area.

As for kids being reffs, the deal with that is that they are volunteers, at my field t least, and they get free entry, paint, and air. As long as they have a good manager watching them, they'll be fine.

Hm.. well just make sure that you have plenty of money to start out with, because those paintballs go fast, so you'll need to stock up. I reccomend maybe doing some sort of differnt forms? like differnt times set up and differnt games (capture the flag, kill, medic, etc.). Hope it goes well! :3
