Listen I am from San Diego and this topic is who do you THINK not who do you want. You honestly think a man with less than 10 MMA fights has the experince to fight someone of Anderson Silva's talent. Just looking at who he fought I mean honestly didnt know that beating Frank Shamrock made you suddenly have such a significant chance to beat P4P best mw of all time. Also look at the strikers he has fought no one was near the talent of Anderson Silva and his grappling ability isnt even on Silva's level and if Frank took it to the ground I think he would have won that fight. So there are holes in this man's game let him have a few more years then come back to this. Another match up that would be nice would be the Dream MW champ and Silva to face off that would be interesting but, because the man is moving up maybe have them fight at 190-195ish some where along this lines.

Also why do people seriously under rate Anderson Silva's ground skills he was able to get dominant positions a very good grappler in Thales and submitted Dan Henderson. What more could anyone ask for to prove he has great ground ability.

We're all from San Jose ... we have all been to Le's gym, we've seen, first hand what he is capable of ... he is the only striker we have seen in any organization that would be an equivilant to Silva ...

It is just that big "what if" that we want to see answred ... hell Dana White said that he wants to bring Cung Le in to fight Silva ... when the UFC say he wants a fighter to fight Silva ... well that's kinda big ...

And another thing ... Cung Le also has an underrated ground game ... he was a wrestler way before he took up striking ... he just never really uses it ...

Sure I have seen Diego Sanchez in an open work out session and the man is an animal but, at the level there at all fighters look good in work out sessions also when you say equivilant he needs to go up against someone like Rich Franklin and dominate him as bad as Silva did because I do not see this so called equivalince. Its almost 100% gurantee in my mind Silva would win this fight if you told them that in five months Silva vs Cung Le unless Silva gets injuried or something along those lines I see Cung Le have a very slim chance. Dana White always bitches about how Fedor can be the best fighter in the world when has fought the best and to be honest I think Dana needs to get that stick out of his a** because Fedor is in the big 3 (GSP, Fedor, and Anderson Silva) P4P. Cung Le in my mind isnt even a top 3 compared to the UFC competion right now. Make him go up against Wandy, Hendo, Belcher, Franklin, and Maia any of these guys. He needs to beat someone who has actually has is one of the best of the best not just a very poorly planned washed up Frank Shamrock. Also I am not saying Cung Le doesnt have talent I think he is a very good fighter espicially for the very few fights he had (still more than Lesnar) but, if he really wants to prove himself he needs to fight higher level competion.

This is a dream fight for some fans ... me included. But if it were to ever happen (I doubt it ... too many politics) ... who would win? They are both noted for their striking abilities ... but what do you think? Will the San Shou Legend beat the Spider or vise-versa ...

There is no DREAM MW champion. The title was vacated by Mousasi a while ago so he could go and fight in the Super Hulk tourney and for Affliction, and is now fighting Babalu for the SF LHW title. Mousasi cannot make weight at 185.

Man this topic really bugs me I mean how overrated can one guy be to warrent this. Anderson Silva is P4P champion and yet people still think he can beat him. Tell me what skills does Cung Le have over Silva. Striking no, Footwork no, Speed no, Power no, Jiu Jitsu no, Wrestling no, Clinch no, I mean honestly where does Cung Le beat Silva at. He just destroyed Forrest Griffin I want to see Cung Le fight Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Thales Letis, and Travis Lutter. He can proably only beat maybe one or two of those guys on that list. Also how long has it been since Cung Le has fought I mean I cant remember the last time the guy has defend his belt. Please there arent to many people on planet that can beat Anderson Silva and the only name that really comes to mind that isnt a HW is GSP but, even then I think its a very close match up. To be honest I think GSP's wrestling is the perfect way to neutralize Anderson Silva's striking but, then again we saw with the Dan Henderson fight Silva is no slouch of his back. So regardless of where the fight takes place he always has a chance.

Not really trying to stir things up but more fights doesn't actually make you a better fighter, it makes you a better fighter on paper. But still I'd like to see Cung Le fight more people before I put him up against Anderson Silva. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Cung Le vs Rich Franklin. But to be honest I feel that Cung Le is doing with Sanshou what Lyoto Machida does with Karate. It's not something easy to prepare for, it catches you off guard, it's annoying to deal with unless you incorporate it into your training and he's very elusive. I'd have to go with Anderson right now because I'm fully aware of what he can do. But breaking an arm with a kick is really bad a**. If Dana White gets Cung Le, better believe he's gonna throw him to the dogs and we'll see what he's made of.

I'd take Anderson vis Massacre. He is much taller and I'd give him the power advantage and most def the hand advantage, though Le has better kicks. There are very few fighters in mw or lhw that I think should consider standing with Anderson...I can actually only think of one.
