Saw this on tumblr ~

Quote:
“both Jensen and Misha mentioned they thought the scene from episode 7.17 where Dean gave Castiel his coat back was a little ridiculous. But a fan brought up the scene again today during their panels again today. Jensen said: “Misha and Bob Singer, who was directing that episode, we were crying-laughing at how ridiculous it was that I had his jacket nicely folded in the trunk of the car…and not even the Impala, but a stolen car. There was no reason for the jacket to be in the trunk of that car. And Bob was like ‘just do it, alright?!’ Then we started saying the dialogue out loud and it…it was so bad. There was a line [Misha] said that he couldn’t get out because it was so ridiculous, so we changed it. [The trench coat] was so perfectly folded with the tie and the collar and Bob’s like ‘can you present it so we can see what it is’ and I was like ‘no! No, I can’t!’ Know that we have problems shooting scenes sometimes.” Later, during the joint panel, Jensen explained that the line was “so out of character”, they couldn’t get it out. The dialogue would have basically indicated that Dean petted the coat. They had to completely change it. “We asked ourselves how we could have changed it around to make it more believable for these characters.” They think that two men probably wouldn’t have gone on like the conversation did.”

It made me crack up because not even the actors liked the amount of fanservice the writers were giving the Cas cult.
I can't even imagine how the scene was originally written, because the finished product was still a bit overkill.
Thank god it wasn't just us cynical old buggers who thought that Dean carrying the trench around everywhere he went was asinine.

Madame de Sousa

Mark Sheppard is from London, England wink

Weren't Crowley's bones in Scotland?
Obviously Mark Sheppard doesn't have a Scottish accent, but I can't remember whether or not the show claimed Crowley was Scottish...
I need to re-watch that episode.

Yea Crowley Fergus Rodric McLeod was from Scotland. Maybe his meatsuit is English razz

Adorable Lunatic

Thought so.
Interesting idea that demons have to speak with the accent of their meatsuit...
Never thought about that before. haha.

Oh man, Salt... That quote... Just knowing that the actors themselves are tuned in to the reality of the situation and the fangirl craziness is...

That makes me so very happy. Link please, so I can give it Tumblr lovins?

Also, if I weren't already married, I'd steal you away in a heartbeat.

I swear, I flipped when I read that.
Just proves again how the writers have been very...misguided of late.
These guys have been playing their characters for years, and I trust 'em more than the writers who are supposed to know what the hell they're doing.

Ah shucks.

I'm Ryan, by the way. Don't know if I've ever said haha.
A girl named Ryan yup.

Hey, Ryan, I'm Ed. Or Cassie, Greta or, my favorite, "Oi, p***k!" Only Kuro gets to call me Cas. Husbandly privileges. But if you like, you can still be Salt. biggrin

Anywhoozle, back on topic!

I just don't get what it is. Sera used to write great episodes in the past, and I hate to think her writing -while still decent- is suffering because she wants to give into the fan factions. I know I've said it a million times, but catering to the fans in such a fashion is the best way to lose the audience, not gain them. And SPN is the perfect example of that. Five seasons of pure bliss. I don't know what the ******** season six was and seven got off to a great start, but then fell flat. And if it's just the writers trying to shake off the past and start anew, then of course there are going to be hitches. But if it's because of the writers trying so hard to please the fangirls, instead of making quality programming...

No wonder half the fandom is screaming for no season eight.

the half of the fandom that is screaming for no season 8 can shutup or gtfo.

Dapper Hunter

Cas, I don't know what I'm going to do about season 8. I want to stay faithful to Show, and the boys, but. UGH. SO AWFUL. By the Power of all that is Evil... NO SEASON 8!

It's turning into a train wreck where I'm almost embarrassed to say I'm a fan. What the Hell are they even going to do with Castiel? He's totally a deus ex machina -- although, I suppose if he turned into a human like he was in The End, that might work, but even then, with all the s**t that went down between him and SamnDean, it'd be so awkward.

Maybe us sane people can write to Show and tell them they're being crazy retards with this whole Castiel business. :

But in all that's said and done, I have to admit. I totally loved d**k in the last episode. He had a great presence, and was genuinely a bit frightening. Also, so charming and kind of oddly attractive... I have issues.

Pull my finger.
They've successfully made a mockery of Castiel, and the memory of the early seasons. That doesn't mean I'll drop the show though.. I'm sticking with the Winchesters 'till the bitter end.

Now. I enjoyed the last episode quite a bit. d**k Roman is growing on me. His face is very distracting.
And I love/hate what they are doing with Bobby. Are they going to burn the flask? Or find a way to send his a** to heaven?

Questionable Streaker

Because I've just watched it, I'm going to quote Stupornatural 3:

This is the last one. Because we know when to quit.

Bleh. I'm lazy watching episodes now and I'm sure I'll be even lazier next series.

I'm waiting for the episode. If the other preview clips are any indication, Cas is pretty broken and the Winchesters don't like it just as much as we do.

God, that pull my finger thing...

*shudders*

I say if the Cas cult can sway the writers into bringing back a superfluous character for no reason other than "the pretty", then we can sway the writers to stop the nonsense before it starts. They've already made a good start with bringing Jeremy Carver back (who was absolutely killing it on Being Human, if you've never checked it out) into the fold. The fans need to rise up and say no to more Cas, no to more ridiculous shenanigans and yes to making our beloved show rock again. Saving people, hunting things. The family business.
