That, and it takes a good stretch for it to be believable, especially if it follows the book or the musical. I absolutely hate the phics that have Raoul as some drunken womanizer. If he didn't act that way before, chances are he isn't going to do a Jekyll/Hyde and start once he's "got the girl".

Plus, Erik's dead.

I guiltily admit that I liked a fic I read ages ago in which Christine was so traumatized that she completely lost it, and Raoul spent the rest of his days by her crazed side. It was cute.. sort of.

I have no problem with E/C if it's written well and makes logical sense. However, if its ends up with Erik bumping uglies with Christine, then I guarantee you I'm not going to like it. As much as I love Erik, we all know Christine wasn't going to boink him. Maybe give him a hug or a puppy, but not sex.

Holy cow! I just saw this movie recently. Weird that this is on the front page of the forum.

So I haven't seen this on Broadway yet (missed out on it twice...). I couldn't even remember how the story went by the time that I saw the movie.

Some things to be addressed...does anyone else agree that the Phantom in the movie had a horrid voice? I'm not opera singer or anything, but I physically winced at several of his parts; it got more bearable at the end there. I really think if they had cast a different person as the Phantom I would have REALLY liked the movie (and I mean, up there with my favorites!). But that one thing keeps holding me back. He could have been SO much better! >_<

I actually really loved Christine's voice in the movie. I have never compared it to the "original" Christines (and again I'm no expert singer or anything) but I was really moved by her voice.

The special effects were REALLY cool. I could barely remember how the songs went, but after hearing them (to some degree!) again they got sooo stuck in my head!

I also was, in fact, in favor of the movie's ending over the original's. I think it's because I'm a sap and I don't want the Phantom to die. Lame I know, but COME ON having the Phantom die is like the most unfair thing out of all the unfair things in the entire world. >':

One thing though, that TOTALLY bugged me...in the graveyard scene, before the Phantom or Raoul appear and Christine is singing alone. A piece of fake snow falls right next to her lip and it stays there the entire scene. XD IT DROVE ME INSANE.

Fiction is so much better then reality. I loved Phantom because Christine and Erik got together and made Charles. AWSOME! Gaston's version did nothing for me.

EDIT: Uh...I don't, personally, like Emmy...but that's just me. Someone with a stronger voice would have done much better.
