I wouldn't call it love but...
I've always read a lot. And when I was in kindergarten, I noticed that a lot of the female characters in the books I read were in a relationship or had a "crush" on a boy their age. So I started to think I should have a crush as well. I evaluated all the boys in my class, then picked Gabe because he was kind of cute and the least annoying of the lot. (The fact that he was only a little taller than me when I was the shortest person in all of the kindergarten classes had nothing to do with it, I swear.) So I started "crushing" on Gabe; I'd sit next to him whenever I could, hug him at every opportunity, and even swoon dramatically and "faint" on the ground whenever I saw him enter a room. After a few days of this, I decided that I'd been crushing on Gabe long enough that we should get married. So I got my big sister (who is four years older than me, and thought the entire thing was the most hilarious thing ever) and a few of her friends to put together a wedding, showed up to school one day in a costume wedding dress (complete with veil), and had my sister marry us using paper rings she'd made herself. Then I had to chase my groom down and tackle him to get my kiss. I've yet to live this down, and I'm now in college.
