In one week, the TV adaption of George R.R. Martin's epic novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, will premiere on HBO. It will star Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, National Treasure), Mark Addy (A Knight's Tale, The Full Monty), Peter Dinklage (Death at a Funeral, Threshold) and Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis, Conan the Barbarian), along with an amazing crop of newcomers and we need a thread to discuss the upcoming awesomeness.

Here is a preview of the series premiere, the first 14 minutes of the episode and it looks pretty damn faithful to the book. And what isn't straight from the pages is still effin' good. Especially that chick in the woods!

I saw a preview at the movies last night and all it did was make me more excited, and wish Sunday would get here sooner.

I have been on the edge of my seat since they started releasing all those delicious little teasers. I -cannot- wait to watch this series. I don't have HBO so I plan on seeing it any other way I can, whether it be by download or stream I DO NOT CARE. I MUST WATCH. scream

-ahem- The casting was done quite well. The only one I've seen so far that looks off to me is the actress for Cersei. She just doesn't look prissy or bitchy enough imo. I'll just have to watch and see how it plays out. I was quite impressed with the 15 minute preview. I think the main thing that blew me away was how large they made the Wall feel in that opening shot. The Others were neat, and creepy. Winterfell was nigh on perfect. I am practically jumping up and down waiting to see the rest of Westeros (and the lands beyond the sea).

It is refreshing to see this book series come to life without being hokey or cheesy. heart

Yeah, this article has a bunch of pictures of the cast and she was one that kinda made me go 'Wow, not was I was thinking.' Everyone else look pretty good. I can't wait to see what kinda fop they get to play the Knight of Flowers. XD
