We were talking about this in my history class on friday.

Well...the discussion tsrated out by talking about how disney made cartoons during wwII glorifying the war life, making the enemy look stupid, etc.

But then we got to talking about all the OTHER stuff, such as this cover.

What does unicorn blood look like?
It looks pretteh like teh Raiiny-bow!

I wonder who spent their time looking through Disney covers just to find anything that can morsley be seen as an inappropraite image?

We saw something like that in my Japanese History class. We were talking about the Pacific War and our teacher showed us one of those Disney cartoons with Donald Duck where the entire thing was like, hail Hitler! And it showed the stereotypes of the Italians, Germans, and Japanese through the way they drew them.

I was like, OMG. My childhood...xD

Funny how I never noticed the supposed phallic tower, the aroused priest or the 'SEX" in the petals when I watched those films as a child.

Makes me wonder exactly whose mind is the one being corrupted.

Even if you do have the original one with the topless woman, this is a good example of how little kids (no offense XD) could careless and 99% of the time wont notice either.

I'm a firm believer that making a big deal out of something, such as not drinking or having sex, only makes kids want to try/do it more. (Not saying you shouldn’t talk to them at all about it, just don’t go crazy with it like some people do…)

Heh. I always laugh when I see that cover now...you know, some buildings just look phallic.

When the Priest is marrying Eric and Vanessa in The Little Mermaid, he has an erection and it moves around in his pants. I have seen it with my own eyes. This might have been edited off the DVD version but I know it was on the VHS with the phallic cover.

Snopes has an article on this. The "erection" was just the priest's knee done at a stupid angle. The animators must have either not noticed, or didn't care.

And in response to the earlier comment that you'd need a microscope to find the phallus on the The Little Mermaid cover, not true. I handed the cover to my sister and said there was something inappropriate on the cover, but didn't specify what. She found it in less than thirty seconds, easily.

If you're not looking for it you might not notice it, and obviously if you don't know what a p***s looks like you won't either. But if you actually spend any time looking at the cover it's not terribly hard to notice.
