Give it time. The world will grow up and we'll be seeing lead gay characters before we know it. We're progressing, sadly still rather slowly, but films like ParaNorman are showing us that progress is indeed being made.

Yeah, homosexuality is still a touchy topic to some, mainly older generation parents who aren't open minded. Even though the support for gay rights has gone up, there is still a large amount of people who oppose it.
