Yes, and I love it when I stumble across people like that.

And what does it say about me that I actually attempted to reason out a plausible battle?

That you put much more effort into thinking about this than most of us. ^_^
I blame that on being a fan of both series equally. Plus these situations are never any fun unless you do reason stuff out.

Ah, true, true. I can imagine the Borgs and the Daleks forming a temporary truce to beat their common enemies, then one completely overpowering the other.
It seems to be the standard formula.

Really, it depends on what works. I mean, I've seen the Borg assimilate machines before, so plausibly they could get the Daleks, but the Daleks are tenacious and would probably easily find some way to kill the Borg.

At the same time, the Doctor has more or less killed out the Daleks on more than one occasion (they ARE tenacious little buggers) and no one has really gotten close to wiping out the Borg. That has to say something for their race...

Janeway at the end of the Voyager Series, She ends up killing the Queen Borg and destroying the Hive which was suppose to kill all Borg by destroying the link between them. Although I hate the ending to that series.

Ah, Janeway, the Mary Sue of Star Trek... I still like her, though. I never saw the end of Voyager, actually, but I should know that.

Let's assume yes to both.
The Daleks could swarm the Borg with sheer numbers and killing rage, but the Borg could, just as easily, assimilate the Daleks to create Dalek-Borg--a truly terrifying prospect. I think that the Dalek-Borg would be superior to both and would wipe them all out.
Winner: Both lose.

But you are forgetting, Daleks are Daleks only. As soon as one is assimilated they are corrupted. Just like in the first season when Rose is changes the Dalek he no longer wanted to live. I think you would encounter a similar scenario. Though since Borg's do not have emotions either it wouldn't get all sad but it will be truly conflicted. It would be torn between it's original program to exterminate and the new one, to assimilate. It wouldn't understand what to do, to exterminate means it can't assimilate but to assimilate means it can't exterminate. Therefore a Dalek-borg would be completely useless. Also assimilating someones takes a lot of time and unless they figure out a way to knock the Dalek unconscious there would be no way to go through the process of implanting all the Borg technology.
You bring up an excellent point. Are you saying that all assimilated Dalek would self-destruct and that the Daleks would win?

Not necessarily, if a Dalek has been assimulated that means the Borg would be adapted to their technology. Borg would have the upper hand.

And all information about their weapons so they can adapt their shields to counter it. Also they would have the Dalek gun (I am drawing a blank for the name right now, sorry) which should be able to break through the Dalek force field and destroy them.

Yeah, there are still tons of other points and variables that we could debate over but alas I don't have the time. I think that we need more debates like this on Gaia, you know. Well thought out, coherent, friendly arguments. None of that 'he would win cause he is so sexy!!!11!' crap.

Agreed.
Perhaps I should make a VERSUS thread, where people argue who would win out of a randomly generated pair. Do you think people would enjoy that?

I think people will like that. Though there should be a rule that if you pick a side you have to have at least one point as to why. You can't just say someone.

You and I can design and maintain it together or something.
I think the first thing to do is set up rules and start gathering suggestions for contestants.
