Naruto and Bleach annoy the ******** out of me just because they're EVERYWHERE, and there are some pairings that annoy me because they get in the way of ones I like.
Also, I find it funny that the first 2 posters in this thread totally came at 2 of my favourites. XD

Any pairing that's not canon, disrespects and disregards the characters and who they are, and perverts them beyond recognition; any fandom that supports such blatantly fetishistic character assassination. Loki is the villain. He does not want to ******** Iron Man. Sherlock Holmes does not want to ******** Watson. Jareth is not the hero. I can go on and on.

So to phrase it short, almost all pairings, and everyone who supports them. Every. Single. One.

Honestly, I don't get people's issue with non-cannon pairings. I mean, it's called fanFICTION for a reason. People know it's never going to happen (for the most part) it's just a bit of harmless fun that doesn't really hurt anyone. And as for Sherlock, the writer has announced that he intentionally leaves Sherlock and John's relationship ambiguous, so ANY interpretation of their relationship is correct, be it just flatmates, or romantic or physical love. It's the BBC, they are far more comfortable with homosexuality over there than in America, and with all the innuendo and little comments they make in the very first episode alone, frankly anything could happen.

I totally agree with you on this. I especially hate it when the characters obviously hate each other.

with that part of my comment I was speaking only for what you mentioned about Sherlock. I wasn't aware that an Avengers fandom had developed, and on that front I agree with you that not a single pairing you could get out of that would make the slightest lick of sense. and I don't even know what a Jareth is.
I suppose i should say that with pairings where the two characters obviously despise each other and would never have any interest in so much as being friends, i think it's wrong. But in pairings where the two characters are already super close to being with, and the show throws in the occasional hint if you choose to construe something that way, it's fine. Using Death Note as an example because it's the first thing that comes to mind, I'm fine with Mello and Matt as a pairing because of how close they are in the series, and Matt's very small part, which leaves their relationship completely ambiguous. I'm fine with L and Light because they were chained together, and there are many time lapses in that show where something could happen. I am not ok with Near and Mello or L and B because they absolutely hate each other, and want each other dead.
Bit of a long winded clarification, sorry for that, but oh well.

You missed the point. You said something about the writer of Sherlock being totally okay with their ambiguous relationship and that the BBC is cool like that.

The problem is, the writer of Sherlock Holmes has been dead for a long ******** time. The TV show is just another adaptation in a long list of adaptations. In fact I think Sherlock Holmes is just behind Count Dracula in the most portrayals on film ever. They're neck-and-neck, I think.

Speaking of Dracula, there is a FANTASTIC example of why shipping characters who have no business getting together is a bad thing. People seem to think that Dracula and Mina are supposed to be together, that they love each other, blah blah blah, and some even think Mina is Dracula's reincarnated bride from when he was human.

That is all bullshit. It all started with a TV movie from Dan Curtis, the creator of Dark Shadows, and Richard Matheson, the guy who wrote the second greatest vampire story ever, I Am Legend. Matheson wanted to introduce a twist to give Dracula more motivation for his actions, and Curtis' famous character Barnabas Collins had dealt with a lost love reincarnated on that show. So they decided to make Mina into the reincarnation of Dracula's lost love...or was it Lucy? They always swap their names, it's so annoying. Anyway, point is, ever since then other people have latched onto the idea. Now it's hard to find Dracula portrayed as the complete monster he is in the book, and in earlier films, because people can't let go of that stupid shipping. It's what happens when shippers become writers and filmmakers, and it is ******** poisonous to the characters.

gaia_crown There are too many pairings from all of the fandoms that I am a part of that piss me off.

I am a My Little Pony fan and I have been since generation one, before the new series. The fandom only pisses me off when they..

1) Feel the need to genderbend everyone and insert Yaoi undertones into everything. I hate Yaoi. I'm sick of seeing it. The main cast are girls. Get over it.

2) Create OCs obsessively and then insert them into stories with canon characters. I don't care about OCs. I never will. I don't feel bad.

3) Create obscene rule34 of the ponies. It's disgusting. There is nothing 'kawaii' about a ******** horse wearing panties. It's gross. gaia_crown

I can't think of anything right now, but I used to be a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan, and "Shadouge" pissed me off to no end.

People just make stuff like that up for fun.

And I guess maybe "Link X Malon" from LoZ: OoT.
It's just stupid. People are like "Oh, I'm bored, let me make up stories/draw art about what I WISH would've happened in my fandom".
fandoms and pairings are annoying in general

Loki is the villain. He does not want to ******** Iron Man.

I'll admit, I laughed at that one.
Finally, someone sane!

I do respect everyone's right to ship whoever they ship, but OOC, non-canon pairings do bother me.
And ffs the incest pairings. emotion_facepalm
I usually don't even comment on my dislike for particular ships, I just (try to) ignore them.
I can't tell you how many pairing names I have blocked by tumblr savior.

Annoying fandoms?
Hell, every fandom is ******** obnoxious, even the ones I'm a part of.
lol

I hate Snape, to be honest. I thought he was a bully who was bitter because he got friend zoned as a child. I thought that he never grew up. So, I don't support it at all. Also, it's ******** weird. Teacher x student relationships are weird to me.

And the fact that the writer killed off Sherlock Holmes hoping no one would write about his misadventures again. I think that's how the story goes, correct?
