The only plausible part of that movie is Yellowstone eruption, because we know for a fact it's gonna happen sometime in the next few hundred thousand years. However, it's unlikely we'll be around to witness it.
Beyond that, the movie is just a typical Roland Emmerich CGI disaster flick, which just happens to take advantage of some bullshit conspiracy theory that's based around the misinterpretation of a calendar created by a civilization that apparently can predict the end of the world thousands of years in the future, but not the end of their own civilization.
I believe yes its a possibilty and it could happen but then again how many times have they predicted this? if there is a god and he chosen the "doom day" he's the only one who would know not any of us so just live each day to the fullest and have no regrets biggrin
Caesar created the Leap Year in 45BC.
There have been 512 of them
Technically, today would be July 28th, 2013 if it wasn't for the leap year.
Mayan's didn't plan for that.
End of the world was almost 8 months ago.
