17 Again asks the question: What would you do if you could relive the most critical part of your teenage years? Since most of you aren't in your 30s yet, you're probably still figuring out what to do with yourselves. Feel free to share your plans in this thread, and of course vote in the poll above!

I'm turning 40 in June. ' What would you do if you could relive the most critical part of your teenage years?' Get out of my situation sooner. When I was 17 I was in my senior year of high school. That year I had moved in with my Grandparents (my mom's parents), they understood what was going on, and found that was the best solution at the time. My mom was incapable of taking care of me (I have learned the true meaning of neglect and abuse), my dad and step-mom did not want me. I was not a bad kid. I graduated in the top 15%, and lettered in academics, art, and music. They just could not handle the responsibility. If I had not left them, I never would have gone to college and found the most wonderful man in my life. We have been married for 16 years. I NEVER want my girls to go through what I went through. The oldest is now 12, and the youngest is 7.

My advice to those out there who are in a bad situation at home, try and find a relative or a responsible adult to talk to. They will hopefully have the wisdom to help you out of your situation.
