@Music: Aww. That sucks. Public school and you still have uniforms. I hope my school doesn't hear about this.
@Rastawn: Especially those tests. If you don't pass them before the end of 12th grade you don't graduate. I'm not overly concerned though. I'm one of the best testers in my class, and I'm only going into 10th grade. So, if by some amazing fluke, I don't pass, I'll have more chances at it.
But the main reason I'm worried about it is if I pass them all this year I won't have to take my final exams this year.

@Rastawn: Yes it is. But I really stress more about final exams than OGTs. There are Final Exams in every class at the end of the 4th quarter of school. They're harder than the OGTs in all truth. In order to graduate you basically need the intelligence of an eight grader. But for Finals you need to know everything you learned in all your classes the entire year. Much harder in my opinion.

I think it's kinda different though ^^

Primary school (ages 4-11, reception & years 1-6)
In Yr 2 & 6 you take SATS

Secondary School (11-16, years 7-11)
Yr 9 - SATS
Yr 11 - GCSE's - basically these are the one that haunt you forever more, I've just done them I get my results next month on the 21st gonk

Sixth form (16-18, years 12 & 13 OPTIONAL)
Yr 12 - AS's - The first half of an A level course
Yr 13 - A levels

Is how we take them our years kinda works like your grades however we're either one up or down so your grade 7 is our yr 8 (or 6 can't remember which way it goes)

Generally European schools are ahead of American schools. We have 13 years of school that's required by law. Kindergarten and then 1st through 12th grade. Then you have college, which is optional. You can be in college anywhere from 4-8 years depending on the career you choose. I'm thinking I'm gunna either be a mechanic or a doctor. Mechanics only need 4 years of college, but Doctors need 8.

then theres uni but I think thats the same everywhere

ah ok, Uni (short for university) is where you go after sixth form/college to do a PHD, BA and a couple other things there the sort of qualifications needed for doctors, some professors, etc.
Thats 4 years normally
