Agreed. Completely. I cried when Amy and Rory, but not when Roes. I never liked Roes, so I was happy to see her go. (Then RTD kept bringing her back and I raged hard)
Oh I cried at the end of Doomsday, I'm just that sentimental. But what I mean is, RTD just abused his characters. Even with the Rose issue "closed," the Doctor was still heartbroken which was immediately followed by his best friend getting mind-frelled! Poor ******** Doctor!
But the Moff managed an ending that was both utterly sad, yet impossibly happy. He is the champion of bittersweet satisfaction.
ehhh they both have their ups and downs. ive been rather unsatisfied this season so far. while there are only a few episodes from RTD's era that i wouldn't watch again, there are already 2 in this season alone. Moffy has some wonderful episodes, especially during RTD's run. But he seems to have trouble as the show runner. some of his recent idead are either anticannon or...well...stupid. Seriously? The statue of liberty? Even IF no one was watching it....wouldn't someone notice it was missing?
and im gonna say it again for the nth time. How the heck did the doctor go to Skaro in asylum?
Ha ha, I love that reaction.
I feel this season's been horrible for all the bad one-liners.
But in terms of saying Goodbye to a companion, this is the best the revival has ever done. No loose ends to hang onto, they're gone and they lived well. None of the previous companions left so neatly, not even Martha.
